I have topped my self today like WOW  !   what is this ?

It is still morning, and I wonder how much more I can do ?

I started out looking for a part for  a child's  popsicle thing.  mind you it comes in a container one part, and with stick to put in each one of these is separate.

I got into the kitchen and was looking to put away the container of what was taken out.  Only thing is the part is one .   I was seeing in my mind that each one was separate !  It took me a while to figure this out.

OK,   I was making oat meal,  and this is some thing you cant forget after so many years of doing this.

Well  you are to add the oat  meal to the boiling water,  not me today,   I put it all together in the pot and wonder what , why ?  was it so mushy ?

OK,  after that and its still morning........   I went down stairs to change  2 light bulbs.

they are then new kind and  I took  out the bulb,  { "there is a click off switch I had shut off first"}and as I was handling it I burnt myself, if its not working why was it hot ?    [and it was off since yesterday]

We are having trouble with the new kind  the spiral ones.    We have lived here for over six years and in that time period it is amazing how long the old bulbs lasted and the new ones are burning out and I still have the old type there that are still hanging on.

Maybe I should just sit here the rest of the day ?

I was just to the doctor a few weeks ago , and she did not notice any thing strange  for me !   We did have a long conversation that I had a argument with her about  so if any thing was wrong I think she would have said some thing ?

I had my eyes done and before they would do them I had to have a check up with the doctor , or they would not do the eyes.

Is it my age, 78  or am I starting on the   "can not spell " [ altzsimers ? ]

Helen

You are perfectly normal.  Take a day off and nap and have a cup of tea.  Read a fun book.  Stop your world for a day and tomorrow you will be bright and alert again.  There is a reason God told us to take one day off in seven!  It's for OUR sakes, not His!

Had days like that?  Oh yeah, and I'm only 65!  My husband put a sign on our refrigerator a couple of months ago that reads, "My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely."  He has a shirt a friend gave him that read something like "Mind wandering, send search party."

Welcome to the human race (or at least toddling forward!)

Have a good day ANYWAY!!!

I am like this sometimes and I am only 57!!!

Thank You !

I have not been getting enough sleep !  For sure !   I go to bed at 10:30  and  wake up at 4 or 5.

When I start to catch up ,  I start have to get up more often during the night.  And then back to 4 and 5 and then again it just keeps going on.

I even take some pills to help sleep.   Our daughter is a nurse and told me what kind is ok !

As the years go on , it just keeps getting worse !

That is why I keep saying I want to go home !

But God does not want me yet , sigh........................... ::prayinghard::

Lack of sleep can affect your mind a lot. This happens to all of us. My son has a new 8 week old baby who is up in the night. He said he has started saying things that dont make sense and not being able to remember things. He is only 35!

Helen

grams, I also sleep less than I should at night, but I have learned that naps in the afternoon make up for it and leave me with energy for the evening, which I would not have otherwise.

And, sweetie, it's not that God doesn't 'want' you yet; it's that He still has a reason for you to be here.

Thank You,

Yes , I have been thinking this !  And wonder what is it I still need to do ?

At this age we do not get around any, except to church on Sunday , and that may  stop soon, since we can not watch the service on the computer.

We go maybe once a month to see our son, the other children are out of State and to far for us to visit.

Helen

It's not always a 'doing' thing, but rather a 'being' thing.  If Christ is shining through your own personality, you are very, very much needed wherever you are.  You can still phone people with encouragement and friendship.  You can still write emails of love and  hope, or letters.

Because we have a profoundly retarded adult son we have chosen to keep and not institutionalize, one of us always has to be home (we have no reliable help, regardless of how much we have tried to find some).  Since my husband teaches astronomy and is often asked to speak in various places, it is me at home most of the time.  A shopping trip can be a treat!

But friends come over, and letters get written, and the food I grow helps feed several families.  There is always some way we can be what Christ wants us to be where He has put us.  And so, like Paul, we learn to be content in all circumstances.  Different kinds of jails; same God, same hope, same joy, same peace in Him.

Helen,

You sure do have your hands full !

And your attitude   about it all , is very good sounding to me !

Remember :   GOD  loves you !
