Leanne

Hi all,

I just wanted to start a thread for all those who have lost their spouse to tell their stories for us to support eachother as we are commanded in 1 Timothy 5:3. As somebody who knows how it is to be i such a position, I would like to create an environment for others who have recently found themselves in a similar position.

I might as well tell my story. In college I found a handsome and faithful man named Malachi. We had both stayed pure until the time where we were married at 22. He had left me to beautiful children, my son Dexter and daughter Matilda. 31 years ago, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The battle did not last long as he died 2 months after he was diagnosed. 11 years on I still miss him, but I have the comfort of knowing that he now has an eternity with out Lord.

God bless each and every one of you.

Hi Leanne and welcome here.

I lost my first husband very suddenly and traumatically after 23 years of marriage and was left with 3 children, but not through death. Loosing someone through divorce is a bereavement just as physical death is.  Someone once said that loosing someone though divorce is not much different except that in divorce the corpse is still walking around. However we don't get the sympathy and support that many widows do which is sad, after all, we are all left alone to be single parents in just the same way.
I am blessed though because 6 years later I met and married my wonderful husband. We have been married for 8 years now.

I've lost 2 wives to death.  The first from liver failure (at age 36) and the second from an overdose of prescription drugs (aged 65).  It is very good to know that they are home....

My first marriage was very troublesome.  The second was a hardship, taking care of her for more than a decade, but she was a sweet wife and a loving companion.

I'm now remarried for 3-1/2 years.
