Lactase  - Lactose

I had to stop using regular milk about 30 years ago

No problem , till the last few years.

I now have to use 6 pills in place of one.

And I feel like I need more yet !

Well,  I wont go into  details on what happens, I went to the doctor  yesterday  to see if there was

more help for me and how many  pills I can take.

[ " the last few weeks have been the worse" ]
Well the doctor gave me no help.   She wanted me to go to another place and get  examined.

I have had enough of those machines in my life time and I  told her no thank you.

Does any one  here have this problem at all ?   And how  are you doing ?

Does acidophilus help?

Hello Helen,

I do take pills,

they are just called lactose pills   or dairy ?
I have no idea what you mentioned.   I looked it up and  did not get
an understand from it.
If it is a pill or food ?
Thanks  :)

Helen

One of our adopted sons was severely lactose/lactase intolerant and the pediatrician recommended (the child was 7 years old when we adopted him) capsules of acidophilus.  It's a bacteria that helps with digestion in general and milk products especially.

You might also try to see if goats milk does any better for you.  Goat cheese....?

What about plain yogurt?  How does that do with you?

[ " My problem that really became worse on me just happened a month ago..........
I am good at not eating much junk foods, but the ice cream I just cant keep away.   And they now have the lactose ice cream and the store has been giving me coupons for a discount , for 3 weeks I was having this every evening.   Bib mistake......  I just could not stop.
Well, that  stopped working on me and it was the worse ever....    "]
****
Our son has a small farm and has goats.
I tried the goats milk and from one of the goats it was good, but he does not use that one any more for milk .
And when he changed to a different one it all started again.
And they live  a hours drive away, so that wont  work.

My husband is going to send for some other pills I noticed in the mail.
It works more on a different level, which may help ? longer periods of time.  etc.  etc.   .....
I sure do hope some thing does  help !
I have had a real bad time these last 4 weeks.
Some how some thing is still  with dairy, and I have been reading.
all the labels.

Thank You very much..............  :)

Coconut milk is a good alternative for those who are lactose intolerant.

I do use the  other kinds of milk  -   alternatives

Just wonder  if any one else  has this problem and what they do ?

Since there is so many different kinds of foods with dairy.
"Soup  cereal and boxed and frozen foods"   That I had not noticed , and even if it is just a little.  Wow..........

Just wonder if any one has  found   some thing better then the pills to take......  since I need so many now .    I started with one and now 6 of them is not working.
And my down fall on  foods is of course dairy.

If I were you, I'd do the following:

1) Avoid dairy products for about 2 weeks - 1 month to help settle things down in your system; Substitute coconut milk or almond milk if these aren't allergens for you
2) Get a Food Allergy Panel run by a doctor (NOTE: This is different from a Food Allergy Test because a food allergy panel looks for more subtle reactions to foods that could be causing your problems. A naturopathic doctor will know what this is and may be able to order one for you depending on the state you live in.) Based on the results, you may need to avoid your food sensitivities for a while.
3) Start taking a high quality active probiotic daily. You can experiment with some of the milk you have left over to be sure it's working by opening one or two of the capsules of the probiotic and putting the powder in a small amount of the milk to sit over night. If it thickens like yogurt, this is a good probiotic. If not, there likely aren't any active bacteria in it and you should contact the manufacturer for a refund.
4) Consider a more comprehensive digestive enzyme supplement
5) Drink sufficient quality water and herbal tea (dandelion or Milk thistle) to aid digestion
6) Research what dairy products actually do for the body. There's a pervasive misconception that we need dairy products in our diet - especially for calcium, but that is quite inaccurate when compared to nutrient dense foods like collard greens.
7) Pray and ask God to help you grow in wisdom regarding how to take care of your temple. Say a scripture out loud daily that helps build your faith regarding the matter.

Happy Health! ::clappingoverhead::

Thank you for all the suggestions !

I was using lactose milk, my daughter who is a nurse told me to not us that.   So I use  almond and I think one other ?   Rice milk ?

I will have to look for the  dandelion milk thistle  -  have not seen that.

collard greens ?    I have never seen them  fresh or frozen

I have a friend at church who had this problem , and all of a sudden it went away !
I asked her how she did this.
She has no idea why  or how it worked !
