Switchfoot and Concert Protesters

My son knows the guys in Switchfoot.  His band has opened for them several times.   He says these guys are fine Christians.   I appreciate how they responded to the protesters.

I heard about this on the radio yesterday.

I really admire how they handled this!  I woulda gotten all irritable and avoided them like the plague.  I have rejection issues though, and started praying that God would strengthen my spirit in this area, so that the next time my family or I come up against attitudes like this against us, I would respond in love rather than react in fear.

It was an excellent response. Probably borne of past experience. 

Those kind of protests used to happen frequently to Larry Norman, DeGarmo and Key, and most of the other pioneers of "Jesus Rock."

Dana Key (of D&G) said at one of their early concerts they were in a church and on their 2nd song people started coming forward.  They then picked up D&K, their instruments and amps and threw them out in the middle of the street.
