I(ego) am(eimi) the(toh) substance(alpha) and(kai) the(toh) sign(omega/tav) of the one who cause to begin/originator/creator(arche), and(kai) the aim(telos) is to teach(legei) of things(ho) of the master(kurious) of things(ho) which is to be(on) and(kai) of things happened(hen)and(kai)  of the things(ho) of origin(erchomenos) by the great one(patokrator).

alternate translation: I am the substance(divine son literally) and the sign of the creator, and my aim is to teach of things of the master(Father/Creator) of things which is to be and of things that happened(was) and of things of origin by the great one.

The above is pretty much a word for word translation in context of the purpose of Jesus which supports the fact that Jesus was a teacher of his father's will in shedding new light or giving new meaning to instructions(torah). It also supports the fact that Jesus indicates that he is the greatest sign of the Creator.

kjv: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is and which was and which is to come the Almighty.

The main difference of the translation is that the Omega which was left untranslated is represented as the last or the end in mirroring the subsequent section with the Greek word telos translated as end. However the origin of the term Alpha and Omega is of Hebrew idiom taken from the actual sayings of being the Alef and the Tav. However the Hebrew Tav is not the last letter of the Hebrew/Aramaic letter so would not relate to the end of anything. But the Hebrew Tav is kind of equivalent to the Greek Omega as tav represents a mark of a sign to take notice of and the Omega is a huge symbol meaning great and can serve as a mark to take notice of.

Alef being Idiomatic of Hebrew on its own would not represent beginning but more something in relation to being strong or mighty or of substance etc.

The Greek word Arche translated as beginning in stating "the beginning and the end" actually refers to the one who cause to begin, or the front runner of things. The first in a line of things to happen. The creator, the originator.

The Greek word Telos translated as end is stating "the beginning and the end" also relates to an end result as in the reason of things done, the aim in context

Also, the Greek word legei translated as saith in stating "saith the Lord" also relates to sayings or teachings of the lord/master in context

I do not know the letter order in Aramaic but Tav is the last letter in Hebrew.
If you do not believe me see Psalm 119 - last 8 lines.

In English that could most probably read "I am the A and the Z, the beginning and the end, ....." which includes also everything in between.

I looked at a chart that had a letter called ghah(rope twist) which was the final letter not realizing that the Tav was the second to last and that the ghah was merged with another letter subsequently. I overlooked that the tav is the final letter now which may or may not have been during the time of Jesus. It may have been as a matter of fact. Thanks for pointing that out. But taking out the punctuation mark of the KJV and taking considerations of scriptural context supported by Jesus teachings of other texts the sign seem to fit rather than the end.

Thanks for your respond

You can get the complete list in order of Hebrew letters by looking at Psalm 119.  It consists of 22 paragraphs of 8 lines each - and each start with the letters of the Hebrew aleph-bet. First 8 lines all start with Aleph, next set 8 lines start with bet/vet, next 8 start with gimel, etc all the way to the last 8 starting with tav.

So that was the Hebrew Aleph-bet at the time of King David. So you can bet it was still the same in the first century.

Revelation 1:8  NASB  "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

(ESV)  "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

(HCSB)  "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "the One who is, who was, and who is coming, the Almighty."

(NOG)  "I am the A and the Z," says the Lord God, the one who is, the one who was, and the one who is coming, the Almighty.

(YLT)  `I am the Alpha and the Omega, beginning and end, saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is coming -- the Almighty.'

(OJB)  Ani Hu the Aleph and the Tav, says Hashem Adonoi, the One who is and the One who was and the One coming, Adonoi Tzivos.

I agree that the tav is the final letter as the chart I was looking at is of more ancient letters with the ghah.

Taking out the punctuation marks of the English bible translation and looking at the Greek and placing the verse in a different context rather than having the letters alef and tav to relate to beginning and end may be interpreted differently with the meaning of the Greek words. Take it out of the context of position of letter alphabets but what the letters represents in concrete meaning.

How do we interpret the beginning and the end? As the beginning of new things when Jesus was born ? or that he is the creator of Heaven and Earth and of all things being YHWH in relation to the beggining as indicated in Genesis? why not interpret it as the strength or the strong one and the sign which is the meaning of the letters relation to his master/father vs interpreting in context of letter position in referring to himself being the beginning and end?

why "said the lord" vs teachings of the lord/master(not relating to Jesus but the Creator) for the Greek

Why not the "one who cause to begin" vs the beginning for the Greek

Why not "the aim" of the teaching or the sayings vs the end of the beginning?

why "who is, who was and who to come" vs teachings of things now(new things) and things happened (past) and things from beginning(origin) of the Great One

The alternate which is almost equivalent to the Greek word for word depicts Jesus separating himself from the Creator but the bible translations put the Creator and Jesus as the same person in revelation 1:8.

Jesus, the man, being the divine son of the Creator and the sign of his father's works is teaching things of his father of things to come(the new kingdom) and things happened in the past and its origin created by the great one, his father, the creator, the one who cause all things to happen from its origin/beginning. The meaning of the father's name YHWH interpreted as I am I will and shall be is round about saying without me there will be nothing, wouldn't have been anything and simply stating the cause of everything from creating. He who cause to be/created(YHWH) and in first person I that cause to be/created(Ahayah). This being that cause to be is the literal father of Jesus that Jesus taught of, the Great One or Almighty.

The usual English bible translation tells something else from Jesus attesting to be a great sign of the works of his father and teaching the disciples as attested in the gospels

Alef = ox head = power and strength

Tav = sign

Alef tav = Powerful sign

Yahushua aka Jesus = The power and the sign or the Powerful/mighty sign of the Creator

The Creator = Nothing is/exist without the One that.., Nothing will beand shall be without the One that...., Nothing was with out the One that.....=the Cause of Everything=YHWH/He who cause to be = Ahayah(Eheyeh) first person/I that cause to be
