Can you please tell me why do you love God? I honestly want to know why do people love Him. What if I don't want to? I can't force myself to love God. I used to be a Christian but I've sinned too much now. I know I'm going to hell and I'm trying to be at peace with it. I don't even know if I want to go to the New Heavens and Earth anyway. What's so great about His love? I think He's done with me. I don't hear His voice anymore. I feel like I have to be perfect or He'll hate me. I go to bed at night afraid to close my eyes because I think He'll have me die and send me to hell. I love my sin. It fulfills me. He doesn't anymore. I don't want to be close to Him so I don't even know why I felt like seeking help. Anyways sorry.

I dont think you knew God as He really is, just the God that you thought He was. No one is too bad to be forgiven if they want to be, but he has given us free will go to His way or ours. You need to chose whether your sin is worth spending eternity in a place of suffering and torment rather than a place that is far over and above anything you could ever dream of. Eternity is a very long time, and this life is nothing compared to that. Sin separates us from God which is what has happened to you.

First thing is to tell us what age you are.

You say you go to bed at night afraid to close your eyes and that you will die and go to hell.

But early in your post you say you know you are going to hell and trying to be at peace with it.

You also declare you love your sin.... that it fulfills you, but you do not tell us what this sin is that you love.

I am curious to know if 70 or 80 or even 90 odd years in this world of some sin that you love is worth an eternity of misery?

So you do not know if you want to go to the new heavens and earth?
You think He's done with you?
You don't want to love God?

You think God hates you?

For starters, God does not hate you. He loves you, but truth be told he may be greatly disappointed in you.

You don't hear His voice anymore?

Well, this may come as a large surprise but I do not always hear his voice either, but you did hear someones voice or you would not be here asking us how and why we love God. NO ONE... I repeat no one hears his voice all the time.

You feel like you have to be perfect or he will hate you?

Wrong. God made you just the same as he made each and every human being. NO ONE IS PERFECT or has ever been other then Jesus. Jesus was sent and became "our" blood sacrifice because of our imperfections and just because we have Him does not mean that we will be perfect or that we won't sin.

He is God's gift to us because of our human nature and because God loves us enough to have come and died for us so we have the ability to escape the torments of hell.

That, in and of itself , should be enough to make one love him.

But there is so much more that He has done for you, and me and each of us.

Even the most religious, upright people that you may feel are perfect and possibly have the inroad to heaven when they die have their faults and sins..... and if you dig into the backgrounds of these people you will find some of it.

WE ALL sin, in one way or another.

But only you can make the choice of where you want to spend eternity once you are on the otherside of life.

What happens here on earth does matter...

Worthless1992

I guess my sin is worth an eternity since I'm addicted to it.

What does my age have to do with anything? Are you going to treat me differently because I'm 22?

I'm trying to be at peace with hell. I'm currently not. It's not a contradiction.

I come on the forums and see that some people always hear His voice. Some say they are sinless. Some say you have to be perfect after getting saved. Some say things that God declared good are sin.

I don't love Him then. I guess His sacrifice isn't enough for me anymore. I used to love Him.

I keep trying to think of ways to end my pain but I don't know any.

Many people have addictions.  They can all be broken. Many have over come addictions with Gods help, but you have to make the choice that you need help, and that you dont want to go any further down the wrong road.

Most Christians I know dont hear His voice directly much, if at all. Some hear Him speak to them through their Bible reading,  some through others, some get given words from Him. We are all different.

If anyone tells you they are sinless they are lying. There is only one sinless person and He is Jesus. We will never be perfect till we get to heaven, but everything that God says is for our good. So, for example, your sin is driving you apart from God, and will carry on doing so until you ask Him to forgive you and help you stop, and get others to help also if needed.

You will never be at peace with Hell, because Hell is a terrible place. There will never be any peace there.

I don't read you sounding fulfilled by your sin, but resolved to it.  You are fearful and without peace, by your own words.

God's love is freedom from all of that.  But, you are right, its your choice.  He doesn't force Himself upon any of us, though He loves us with an everlasting love and waits on high to have compassion on us.

God bless you.

Worthless1992

But I love my sin. I can't choose a Being I don't know over it. He does force if He basically says worship me or go to hell. I've tried getting help. Didnt work. Christians judged me.

This may be true, but what has it gotten you?  You choose a screen name "worthless". Why do you suppose you chose
that name? But most importantly, why do you think you are coming to a Christian board in the first place?  You are coming to
the board because the Lord loves you, and wants you to turn back to Himself.

Confess to the Lord that you "love your sin". Admit it to Him. You call whatever it is "sin" because you know in your heart
it is wrong. Just tell the Lord about it.  Then, along with David in Psalm 51 pray:

"Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
Do not banish me from your presence,
and don't take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you
" (Psalm 51:10-12)

Please note that David is acknowledging that he CANNOT CHANGE HIMSELF. Yes--we can all "repent" in a
human manner----but true repentance comes from the hand of God. The Bible says it is the "goodness of God that leads
us to repentance
" (Rom. 2:4)  David asks God to create in him a clean heart--to renew a loyal spirit within him---to restore
his joy, and "make me willing to obey you".

Worthless----you've come to the board for a reason. In your heart of hearts you want to get right with God.  So pray to God honestly:
"Lord, I love this sin. I don't really want to, but I do. I confess it to you with all my heart. Lord, please change me---create in me a
clean heart.  Renew a loyal spirit within me. Make me willing to obey you
".

Pour out your heart in sincerity to God.  You are blinded right now. 2 Peter describes you:

"For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins". (2 Peter 1:8,9)

You are "nearsighted"---forgetting the joy of salvation, the wondrous Grace of God, and his wonderful love for you.  Admit to the Lord where your heart is----even if
it is very cold and uncaring. The Lord desires sincerity of heart.  If you confess this to him in sincerity, he will restore you---you will truly be able to repent---and you will begin to see clearly once again!  You won't believe that you could possibly ever have said that you didn't want to go to the celestial city!  You will kick yourself for having said that!  Once your eyes are opened again, you will fall to your knees and thank God for the extreme PRIVILEGE of being a Christian!

How can I say all these things?  Because I was once where you are right now.  I would have chosen a name like "worthless" also. But through the Grace of God I repented, and realize just how blessed I truly am to be a Christian.  But it all started with being honest with God.  You have to start there also.

God bless you my friend!  There is great hope for you!   ::smile::

Im sorry you've been judged. I am sorry that God's people have failed you...we do that you know? Fail one another.  I wish it weren't so, but it is.  All we can do is keep trying, forgive and move on.

God doesn't force us into a relationship with Him, but He is fair enough to let us know what is at stake.  I am sorry, but you misunderstand Him. He has never said "Worship Me or burn in hell." He says something more like "I am holy and just. I have loved you with an everlasting love. I love you so much, I sent My Son for you while you are in your sin, saying you love it. I want you set free from the bondage of that sin, because I love you, but its up to you whether or not you choose a relationship with Me, or confess My Son as Lord.  If you reject me, I will not force Myself on you, but let you have your way...(which has consequences, but let's be honest; all choices do) and let you have a life and eternity without Me."

You say you love your sin...but you admit to being afraid, fearful, and miserable...I have to ask, does your sin love you?  A relationship with God never leads to fear, being afraid or miserable.  He brings peace.

I know that He promises that those that look for Him with all of their heart will find Him...I hope for that for you.

God bless.

If you make the decision to get to know Him by talking to Him, reading about Him in the Bible and listening to Him, then you WILL get to know Him.
He doesnt say worship me or you will go to hell, He says that unless you accept my son Jesus as your saviour, you will, because we all sin and we all need forgiveness.
How can you love something that will ruin your life here, and even worse, your eternal life?

Where did you go to for help? How many churches did you try?How many organisations did you get in touch with?

Worthless1992

I chose worthless because that's what I am. I did try yesterday to hear from God but it didn't work. I do read the Bible.  I just have a hard time believing some verses about Him caring and loving me. I have loved my sin my whole life. Can't stop now. I went to 2 churches. I had accountability partners. 1 moved away and told me she can't help me anymore. One left me. I did other preventions. I saw a counselor.  I couldn't afford to stay for over a few weeks. She wanted money and was upset. I saw a friend. She told me I'm not a christian if I haven't made Jesus Lord over everything in my life. Another counselor said everything in the Bible is a metaphor. God doesn't love me that much. Another friend said maybe God doesn't want my dreams to come true.
I'm worn out.

Jesus says 'come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Yes you do need to ask for His forgiveness first, and ask Jesus to come into your life and lead you. He knows all about your sin,and He still loves you and wants to help you.
Sinning only keeps you apart from God, and makes you always feel guilty and dirty and bad. You say you cant stop, of course you can, with his help and support.  Sometimes we need to get in the pit before we will admit that we need help and that we have had enough of going our way.

Worthless1992

But I can't stop loving it. I choose to sin. Therefore Hebrews 6 and 10 probably applies to me.

New Creation

I love God because he first loved me.

Like Noah, I was a drunk.

Like Jacob, I was a liar.

Like David, I was an adulterer.

Like Elijah, I was suicidal.

Like Peter, I denied Christ.

I don't deserve grace, but he gives it to me anyway. Now I am more than those things. I'm a child of God, I can call him father. I'm sorry to hear about your heavy heart, I mourn for you and I pray for your healing. If you really "love your sin" then I don't think you would be here sharing your conflicted feelings. If you need someone to listen and not judge you, feel free to message me. It's never too late.

I once was dead in sin, but now I'm alive in Christ. And so, you can be as well.

Worthless1992

I do love it. Just don't want to be sent to Hell or hurt on earth. Thanks for being kind.

No, I won't treat you differently because you are 22. (I would if you were 72)

Good for you that you did try to get help for this thing you love.

You have not said but is it safe to assume that it is either drugs or alcohol or perhaps a combination? (perhaps sexual perversion?)

It is so difficult to break the bonds of something we love. It seems clear that you would like to and are hopeful that God will fill that space you are going to experience once you give your love up.

I do not want to be the bearer of bad news but it is the very rare person that has that happen.

You said " Another friend said maybe God doesn't want my dreams to come true. "

I need to ask you what those dreams are.

If your dream is to rob a bank and get wealthy that way, for sure God would not want that, but most dreams of a girl your age God would support but He won't wave His arm to make it happen for you.

He also is not going to be whispering in your ear or sending you dreams for clarity.

You are in a good spot here in this forum and if you talk to us we will be forthright and tell you somethings that will hopefully help you.

We will not judge you.

We have all gone through periods similar to yours.

I am much older then you and have had quite a time over the past several years (actually since the fall of 2009) where I would and have described myself as being very backslidden because of something in my life that I could not pull away from until last January, and even at that have had moments and days of trouble with this.

But I am still a Christian. I know God is up there shaking his head at me wondering when I will get a grip on things....

So just talk to us and let us talk back to you with all of our collective knowledge or lack thereof in my case.

Worthless1992

How can God fill the space? He is a distant invisible deity. I'd rather not say. She had the same dream as me and received it. Clarity? Why do christians say God speaks to them even in dreams? Why am I so inferior to others that God won't let me even sense His presence?

I don't always sense His presence.  I don't.  But, I know He is there, because His Word promises me that He is.

I was like you once. I had a hard time believing that He could forgive me, that He could love me, or that I could trust Him.

I started to pray, and poured myself out to Him. I started to read to learn about Him.  I started to tell myself "Self! Trust God! You've tried it your way and you are *miserable*! God's way has *got* to be better than the mess you've made.".

Don't confuse God's devotion to you by His people.  They are only human and will fail you, but that doesn't mean that God will, and it doesn't mean that they or HE doesn't love you.  ::smile:: He does. SO very much, no matter WHAT you've done or are doing.  There is nothing that can separate you from the love of God.  If you seek Him with all of your heart, you will find Him.  Keep asking questions, keep going to Him, keep calling upon Him and you will find the peace you are seeking after...the kind your sin can't give you. ::hug::

God bless.

Why are you afraid to try?  Did someone put some hoop in front of you and told you that loving God looks only like this?  What does loving God look like to you?

Loving God looks like obeying everything 100 percent. Going through hoops to make God happy. Slip up and bam- salvation lost. Giving up everything wonderful to move to a distant country like Africa and being miserable.

While it is true that God will judge us on our obedience, and it will determine our Heavenly reward, we are saved by what CHRIST did, not what we do. We will never be able to be 100% perfect or holy, which is what God demands, because that is what HE is.  The Bible says that Christ becomes our righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21)...we strive to obey because it brings glory to God and we love Him, but not because of fear. (1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.)

1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  This is not a one and done game, but a walk, a relationship.  God is loving and forgiving, not wishing that any should perish.  He waits on high to have compassion and takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.

QuoteGiving up everything wonderful to move to a distant country like Africa and being miserable.

While God does call *some* to missionary life, it is not a requirement.  He has a special hand crafted purpose and plan just for you...it doesn't *have* to be living in outer Mongolia and being miserable.  ::smile::
Right now, I wish He would call me somewhere amazing, but He sees fit to stick me here, in my little backwater town, ministering to my family.  Sometimes I wish that I was called to the many, but He has called me to minister to the few in my nest.  I am content, because I know He loves me, this is His best for me and I can be content and at peace.

A wise Christian teacher once said that if we allow Gods love for us to begin the process,  THEN will we begin to love God. Loving God isn't sudden in many cases, but takes time. As we gradually learn more about Him, and realise that He does indeed love and care about us, our love for Him will begin to grow. I dont know many people who often 'feel' his presence, thats why its called faith, and by believing in what the Bible says over our own feelings, we will gradually replace those lies('God doesnt love me' or 'I am worthless') with the truth('God adores me and wants to help me').

Wow you have got a VERY skewed picture of what God is like. None of us get it right all the time, or even much of the time. You will NOT loose your salvation if you fail or slip up, once you are adopted as His child you are HIS child, and He will begin that process of loving you and changing you and healing you.
Please listen to some good teaching. I think you will find Joyce Meyer helpful, she is very down to earth and practical and has been though a lot herself. Her website is joycemeyer.org and she is on God tv every day.
It will take time for the terribly wrong picture that you have of God to change, but it will (I have been there). Just think of the best dad ever in the world and then understand that God is far far better than that.  Talk to Him as your Heavenly Dad, and be honest and open with Him. Let Him love YOU and your love for Him will gradually grow.

Most people are not called to go to some far off place. Most are called to be where they are.  Also, guess what, if he does call a person to go somewhere else, He actually gives them a desire to do it. He gives them a real desire to go there and a heart for wherever it is.

Try doing this for a while.

Think of the people here on earth that you have loved and that have loved you in return.

Your parents, brothers and sisters, close friends, or anyone else.

Now ask yourself this question....

Did any of these expect you to be perfect 100% of the time to still be loved by them?

I know that you were not always perfect because no one is.... Only Jesus....

Did it make a difference in your relationship with them?

I had a male friend once upon a time who had two sons of his own.

He and I would often discuss what you actually are concrned about, and this in truth was when I was only about 5 years older then you are right now. I was so afraid that I was going to blow it with God and that He would turn his back on me.

My friend told me God loves me as a child of His. He went on to say that there is nothing his own two sons could do to make his not love them and forgive them if they asked him to.

I have always remembered and decades later it is still in the back of my mind.

Yes, it is true you can turn your back on God. That is because you have free will.
But unless you make a conscious decision to turn your back on him and have no cares for your eternity I want to assure you that right now you do not need to
have a life altering revelation, you need to start with baby steps and open your mind and your heart to hearing and learning.

It might surprise you s you read over the threads on the board and various subject matters to learn there are many of us, perhaps most, who do not always agree with one another.....

That is ok.... because we are hear and we do learn from each other.

I know God hears me when I pray and He answers my prayers. But I never really hear him. Truthfully, as much as I do not like it He sometimes says no to what I ask him.

Yes, that saddens me and I pout, but I get over it.

You are questioning now and that is a very great thing.

The more you learn about the wonders that God has done for us the more you will truly learn to appreciate and love him because with God in your corner you have it conquered.

Ocean

::hug:: You should change your name here so that you start to feel better about yourself rather than worthless.  ::sick:: If you love your sin and that is how it makes you feel maybe that's why you're here. Your deeper side that use to know God is screaming to come home to him.
How can we not love God. His very essence is inside us and all else that he's created. Do you love sunsets? There's God. Do you love trees? There is God. Do you love the perfume of the seasons as they change? There is God.

You are alive and that proves God loves you. Now you have to do some serious introspection and ask why you don't love yourself and see you as worthless.  ::hug::  Stick around you may find help here.

I found out why God doesn't like me. Psalm 66:18. "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me" This has to be why He seems to have favorites in church and I'm not one of them. I don't have a future. I don't want to die but I don't want to be ignored anymore like I'm worthless.

God does not have favorites and condemns the practice.

Romans 2:11 For God does not show favoritism

Deuteronomy 10:17
For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.

Acts 10:34
Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism

James 2:9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

If you have iniquity in your heart, you are one choice away from that being changed.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Isaiah 30:18 Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I was told Jeremiah 29:11 is not for us.

Goodness, who in the world would tell you that?  How sad to think that the whole Word of God isn't for us?

No He doesnt have favourites. It comes down to whether you will believe the lies that you tell yourself or whether you will believe what God says to you.

read this every day and say it out loud no matter what your feelings say. In a few months of doing this you will feel very different.

Some from my old church who were Calvinists. Also others talked about how gullible other Christians are for believing Jeremiah 29:11 on Christian Memes page on facebook and Adam4d.com.

Thanks for the page Chosenone but I don't want a father relationship with God.

The bottom line is that you are allowing the voice of others to be louder than the Voice of God.  He loves you, its His will that none should perish, He knows the number of hairs on your head and He has a plan and purpose for you.
