And I'm from New Jersey. A grew up as a great kid, didn't get into any trouble. Always did what I was suppose to do whether getting good grades in school, not being a nuisance outside the home....grew up with both parents. My dad wasn't big on religion even though his side of the family was heavy into Christianity. My mother grew up practicing the Muslim tradition even though she didn't go to any mosque to worship. My great grandmother was heavy into the bible, preferably the KJV as I presume most are on here.  I didn't go to church much growing up, went here and there with my best friend at the time Ronnie would go with his grandmother. I briefly learned what the Church was about, but the bible itself interest me the most.

Over the years, I became well acquainted with the books, verses and history pertaining to the bible. I went through a phase of going through different doctrines whether it be the moorish science temple of america doctrine or Khemetic doctrine while still being persuaded from Christians that I should follow the lord and what he has for me. I'm going to be honest, I laugh at such notions, but there has been a change of heart on my part. The inspiration came from a young kid who I supervised, who's spirit (who's name happens to be Ronny too) change my way of thinking about the scriptures. I'm at the point now in my life where I'm on the fence, not on the fence to follow the word, but I'm scared. It's hard to get away from a train of thought that you drilled or embedded in your psyche for many years. I don't no where to start. And I'm asking for help...

Hi Terrell

Welcome here, and we will do all we can to answer questions etc.

I have never regretted becoming a Christian, it the only way and the best way.

Welcome Terrell,  ::tippinghat::
Hope your time spent here is helpful for you and all who read your posts. Feel free to join in the discussions.
I have no advice, but feel that in our relationship with Jesus Christ, we each come to a point of personal surrender to His leading. So, with that in mind, I don't believe all the pressure is on the believer to discover and know "everything" in order to be in a saving relationship with Him. What I'm saying is we can trust in Him and not try and take on the responsibility of saving ourselves with certain doctrines.
Just a thought.
Blessings to you.

Greetings  Terrell,

Welcome~I do trust before God, that the help that you are seeking for, that God, who is gracious above all, will be pleased to grant it unto your spirit.  At least, you are doing what you believe you should do.  Those that seek God, with all their hearts, will find him.

Jeremiah 29:13

  .
  " And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

Spirit Filled
