I wouldnt go. A friend of ours had a 'women of the night' and pirates party for his 40th.  I think he knew we wouldnt go but he was fine about it. I think you need to politely explain why. Maybe you can pop round earlier in the day with a present? BTW how old is the daughter?

I'd say it's a situational and conscience thing. Marrying outside the faith is against the law, but David did so and it wasn't counted as sin to him, ya know? It actually sounds like it's based on The Walking Dead's season finale tonight, but you and your husband are clearly against it in your conscience, so definitely don't go.

Thank you for your responses. Our son is 7 and we also have an 11month old. The birthday girl is turning 10. We are trying not to expose our son to gory things and are trying to teach him about what God would like for us to do.

Seem a very dark theme for a 10 years old birthday, and even more for a your 7 year old to have to attend. I really dont get the obsession with zombie programmes do you? I cant see anything positive or godly in them at all.
I am glad that your husband has said no.
Just say that you dont think its really suitable for your young children to attend, bearing in mind the theme.

Just tell her thank you for thinking of you and wishing to include you, but you have plans for that night.

I wouldn't attend a zombie party. Zombies are the walking dead and it is the impression that theme gives when it is counter to what the Christian believes about souls.
I also wouldn't lie as to why I'm not going to attend. Tell her straight. Maybe you'll open her eyes and she'll cancel the party. But if not at least you're not attending.

Now days television is more and more programming evil filth for young children to consume. "Salem" is a new show that extols the evil of old Salem myths and works contrary to what many activists in that very city in Massachusetts have sought to correct for decades. Now, that one show is reviving the old myth about evil and witches and conjuration and the like.
"Constantine" is another show. Taken from the Keanu Reeves movie it's all about evil, spirits, dark angels, etc... "The Walking Dead" is about zombies. Now there's a competitor network, "IZombie" or some such.

More and more evil is occupying prime time TV. Attending a party dedicated to that kind of walking dead theme just exacerbates the theme overall.
