another important thing to remember is that Israel is a sign post of what being obedient to God and/or disobedient will bring.  But that nation has a particular covenant that it will never be stamped out of the annals of man as the world exists...  and in order for a nation to exist there must be people or a people. 

therefore Israel will exist and we can learn from them as well as be blessed by God if we pray for them.  Because they are not perfect and in fact get way off at times.  and for them to have the truth as they do and hardly ever express HIM to men under what ever circumstances that are presented is odd.  and yet simple to because they depend upon Jesus Christ WHO is seen by HIS own as just another prophet who troubled Israel and was impostor to the savior presented by their interpretation.

Every "proof-text" today submitted by "Jews" today or misguided, naïve Christians in support of the occupation of Palestine is an attempt to prove that Christ will establish a Jewish Kingdom in Palestine, therefore the Jews have a biblical right to the land. Jesus said "my kingdom is not of this world." And the "earthly kingdom" scenario completely fails to correctly receive the intended meanings  of the Messianic prophecies, even the Jews of Jesus' day rejected Him as the Messiah simply because He did not "fit" their ideas and "interpretation" of how the Messiah of Israel (and the world) would act and live.
