As a part of growing process, a toddler has to be taught many things. It takes patience and efforts from the side of
the parents, so that a child develops into a physically and mentally healthy individual. Potty training is one such
task which is very important to learn at a proper age. Actually, there is no precise rule about the age of potty
training because the pace of learning in each child is different. It doesn't mean that a child is weak or incompetent.
It is just that your child has not figured out a way to deal with her body, yet. As mentioned in the previous article,
there are many features included in potty training. Potty training in boys and girls is a bit different, due to the
orientation of their excretory organs. Now, you will be keen to know, when to start potty training girls? Read on to
learn some tips that will help you make the training process easier.

Potty train when they are ready.  One daughter did it herself at 17 months.  She could not stand to have a dirty or wet diaper and so the transition to the potty chair was easy.
My other daughter was quite content and I didn't even try with her until 2 and a half.

The age doesn't matter.  They are both beautiful young women now and they both use the toilet successfully today!  ::noworries::

I trained mine with  -

Two m & m's every time they went to the potty. Maybe not the healthiest way, but it does the trick faster than any method I know of. I guess it didn't result in any long term unhealthy eating in the bathroom issues since I never see them carrying candy to the bathroom when they head that way.

Mine were pretty quick. My first, a boy, was dry during the day at 20 months and at night by 23 months. He was still having a full bottle of milk at bedtime then as well.

Sorry, Alan, no m & m's, but here's my candy dish that I always keep stocked with chocolate. Right now, it's filled with Hershey Kisses and Dove chocolates. I'd be happy to share. I also have a peach cobbler in the oven and would gladly share with any and all of you!  ::smile::

I only had to work with one, that was my son's son. When he was old enough to walk and knew better, then I gave him a cold shower to clean him~I only had to give him three...done deal.  ::tippinghat:: I thought that he had forgotten about it. A few years later when he was turning six, he looked at me, and said: "Papa, if you come into my bedroom without permission first from me, then I am going to give you a cold shower!" I said Joshua, I promise you, that I will ask first, for I do not like cold showers.  Wow, he never forgot those three cold showers....can't say that I blame him.

Let's hope you don't become incontinent someday, or he may use that technique on you.  ::giggle::

You must have lots of self control.  ::eek:: We cant have have any sweets, chocolates, cakes, potato chips etc in the house, my self control comes in the shops. I haven't got much once anything is in the house.   ::yummy::

Me too, Chosen. Can't bring any of that kind of thing home.  I admire those that can for their will power!

Ladies, ladies! I'm a chocoholic, too! The only way I keep my hand out of the candy jar is to keep these in stock. I eat one a day. Half of it in the afternoon, and the other half in the evening. I get my daily chocolate fix that way.

As for the peach cobbler, I had one bowl of warm peach cobbler, topped with a little cream...licked that bowl clean, then ran the rest of the cobbler over to my son and grandson. I had to get it out of the house or I would have found an excuse to eat it for breakfast. I saved a peach for my breakfast that I'll have with cottage cheese.

Are you a chocolate hater? My mom used to say, "I don't like chocolate. It tastes like Ex-Lax." I'd answer, "I AM NOT YOUR DAUGHTER!!"

Here's my dog about 5 years ago. She doesn't know chocolate isn't good for dogs - or she knows and doesn't care. She got into my grandson's Valentine's chocolate and had her way with it. Those are the wrappers lying around the floor. She was careful not to eat the paper.

No, I don't hate chocolate.   I like to tell my kids to look outside and when they do, I will say the dog is making chocolate. They groan.  Guess I am not doing the typical dad jokes.

Maybe if you tell them that enough, they'll start associating chocolate with poop and develop an aversion to it - saving them from a life of chocoholism.

Thanks for the chocolate heads up!  I am also trying to cut out as much sugar as possible, limiting myself to 4 grams a serving.  The chocolate you showed us is barely over that, so...I'm gettin it!  ::noworries::

About peach cobbler, I have to limit making evil, gorgeous, horrible, wonderful, decadent, things like that until all my kiddos are home to devour it right before my eyes and all that's left for me to feast on is the aroma!  ::giggle::

One of my weaknesses is a cast iron skillet full of buttermilk cornbread. No matter how much I try to leave it alone, I'll always creep back into the kitchen for more.

Yes! Try those crunchy chocolate bars. I get them both at Walmart Neighborhood Market, but I've also seen them at Whole Foods. I hope you like them.  ::smile::

I will stick with Snickers.   That "healthy" stuff does taste like chalk.

Snickers are one of my favorites, but I'm trying to not get diabetes. My sister-in-law used to say Snickers candy bars are a good option for balanced candy bar. The protein in the nuts helps counteract some of the sugar in the chocolate. Don't know how true it is, but it sounds good.  ::giggle::
