Ridiculous. 'Worshipping God' on God's Command, makes the Sabbath 'a day set aside for worship' by God's Command.

God's Commanding the Sabbath "an holy convocation", makes the Sabbath 'a day set aside for worship' by God's Command -- FOR WORSHIP! What else?!

God's Commanding the Sabbath "wherein you shall do no work", makes the Sabbath 'a day set aside for worship' by God's Command  -- FOR WORSHIP! What else?!

GOD, 'setting aside' the Sabbath "for being the Sabbath OF THE LORD", is 'setting aside' the Sabbath for it being THE Day FOR the worship of HIM, WHO, set it aside BECAUSE "IT IS the Sabbath OF THE LORD"!

God having set the Sabbath apart for the People of God "in your houses" 'set it apart' -- "sanctified" it, "hallowed" it, "blessed" it  FOR WHAT ON EARTH THAN FOR HIS WORSHIP BY HIS PEOPLE AS FAMILIES LIVING AND WORSHIPPING GOD "IN THEIR HOUSES"?!
Just as I thought.  You can't find anything anywhere in the Bible about a "day of worship".  But of course that doesn't stop you from ad-libbing your own views and thinking it is "biblical".

You asked "FOR WORSHIP! What else?!"  FOR REST, just as God says.

Jaime

What is a Holy convocation?

Convocation is defined as a large formal assembly of people. A holy convocation sounds like a worship service. Just my two cents worth. I have really never considered what a convocation was much less a holy convocation.

You are the only one who thinks you are smart. Looking for worship of yourself? You can't find anything anywhere in the Bible ad-libbing your views and thinking about worship. You're in the wrong Book, on the wrong page, and in the wrong company. Try find any elsewhere.

You are irrelevant, friend , and so, 'just' what you--- 'I thought'...

God's Rest, is the ultimate, "the all-exceeding" intensity and culmination of "all the Works of God"; and God's Work, is the ultimate, "the all-exceeding" intensity and culmination of "the Rest of God" : "WHEN GOD RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD", "and the LORD, THE SEVENTH DAY RESTED AND REVIVED"... "wherefore, remember the Sabbath to keep it holy DAY-OF WORSHIP" to the "LORD OF THE SABBATH DAY."

Oh great, just great.  Snide comments instead of answers.  If you are seeing irrelevant, perhaps you are looking in the mirror.

But even with the disparaging comments you still haven't produced the passage(s) in the Bible that supports your view of the Sabbath.  So you can be as denigrating as you wish but that doesn't change the fact that you have failed to back up what seems to be your totally false view of things.

What did I say about your ad-libbing?  You have done it again.

Exo 20:8  "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

There is no "DAY-OF WORSHIP" in that verse or any other verse describing the Sabbath.

Jaime

What makes a day Holy? How are we to treat a day that is Holy? And again if a Holy day is for a Holy convocation, what constitutes a convocation?

What are we to convoCATE?

I came across this and it shows how the Sabbath will be the final test of those who love the Lord and those who rebel against Him. Take a look...

"The Final Test...Satan's war against God and His authority has focused upon the character of God and His law from the very beginning, and it will escalate just before Jesus comes the second time.

Jesus must have known that Satan would tempt us to doubt our need to obey God's law, for He emphasized that our obedience is a demonstration of our love to Him: "If you love Me, keep My commandments. . . . If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love." John 14:15; 15:10. John the beloved wrote, "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome." 1 John 5:3.

The fourth of the ten commandments reminds us to keep the seventh-day Sabbath:

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11....

During His earthly life, Jesus affirmed what day is the true "Lord's day": "The Son of Man is . . . Lord of the Sabbath." Mark 2:28.

In the book of Revelation, chapter 14, John tells us that he saw three angels flying in the heavens. As the first of those three angels calls all people to worship God, it is interesting to note that he uses language similar to what we read above in the fourth commandment. Note also that these three messages focus on the issue of who we worship:

"Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—saying with a loud voice, 'Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.' And another angel followed, saying, 'Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.' Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, 'If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." Revelation 14:6-12.

This issue of worship is indicated by man's choice whether he will honor the true Sabbath of God or the false Sabbath that man established:

...As the Protestant churches reject the clear, Scriptural arguments in defense of God's law, they will long to silence those whose faith they cannot overthrow by the Bible. Though they blind their own eyes to the fact, they are now adopting a course which will lead to the persecution of those who conscientiously refuse to do what the rest of the Christian world are doing, and acknowledge the claims of the papal sabbath.

The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet's words: "The dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17....."

Colossians 2 tells us you are full of it.

Here we have the perfect modern day example of sectarianism. Someone discovers a "truth" or practice in the Bible that they think everyone else has neglected. A following is formed around this "truth" or practice and it becomes the most important thing in all the Bible. Anyone who does not accept this "truth" as they do is considered as purposely rebelling against God or, at least, ignorantly blinded by Satan. Sometimes the movement even names itself after this certain truth or practice. I know all this first hand because I have spent my life in a sectarian group that is at long last trying to put that behind them.  Most denominations began this way so most of us have some sectarianism in our bones. My group is about a hundred years behind the other Protestant groups in leaving sectarianism. Most denominations began this way so most of us have some sectarianism in our bones. Maybe we will all begin to realize that disunity and judging brothers in the church is just as dangerous, if not more, as getting some of our doctrine and practice wrong.

again, i ask someone to point me to a verse that says our salvation is dependent upon keeping the sabbath?

The sda position on the importance of the sabbath is based on this infallible view from prophetess Ellen White expressed in this statement.

"It means eternal salvation to keep the Sabbath holy unto the Lord".  [E.G.W. 6T 356.4]

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Perhaps least, but in the kingdom of Heaven, none the less.

SDA's also teach that sabbath keeping is the seal of God and Sunday is the mark of the beast.

But, they contribute to the mark that others take because they regularly go and eat out after their Church services; forcing others to work, waiting upon them, catering to them and serving them while they rest; thereby causing others to stumble and that's not looking real good for them...is it?  What does the bible say about those that cause others to stumble?

Man, I need not 'produce' anything; GOD produced ONE ALMIGHTY STATEMENT "THUS CONCERNING THE SABBATH ... IN THESE LAST DAYS ... SPEAKING BY THE SON : GOD the day The Seventh Day from ALL his works RESTED"-- "rested" "having RAISED CHRIST from the dead, RESTING / SEATING / ENTHRONING HIM on his Own Right Hand ... GIVING HIM TO THE CHURCH AS HEAD."

Have your meaningless 'arguments' with GOD over "the day The Seventh Day Sabbath OF THE LORD GOD"!

When Christ began his saving ministry, "He on the Sabbath ... stood up" and read the Glad Tidings from Isaiah. Luke 4 tells further, that Jesus, "IN THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT ... when He had finished reading: CLOSED THE BOOK AND SAT DOWN"!

This act of REST IN SITTING DOWN ON THE SABBATH of Jesus Christ encompassed the whole Gospel, the whole Bible and SEALED ALL THE WORKS OF GOD as with the "CROWNING OF THE SON OF THE KING and SETTING HIM ON THE THRONE and the City --the CHURCH-- was PEACEFUL", that is, "RESTED", that is, "WORSHIPPED ... after they had KILLED Athaliah" the sun-goddess whom the people before, had worshipped.

And o yes, "they KILLED Athaliah... on the Sabbath" for sooth! And their killing of the no-god sun-goddess was God's commanded deed-of-WORSHIP of Him on the Sabbath.

Sabbath worship doesn't come cheap; it entails the JUDGEMENTS OF GOD.

What you are describing above is not just sectarianism, it is the battle between truth and deception has been going on since the fall, and will continue until Christ returns and settles all disputes. Perhaps you should go back to Rome if you have not already, she seeks the unity you espouse, under her leadership of course.

No worries bro, there is no verse that exactly states such, you are free and clear to ignore the fourth commandment. According to you own logic also, everyone is free and clear to do anything and everything that is not exactly stated to cause the loss of salvation as well. Congratulations you and many others are now free to do so very much without the threat of losing your salvation.

Yea, never mind all those other Christians who kept the Sabbath all throughout history. Or the fact that a Seventh Day Baptist had to introduce the teaching to Adventists, before they accepted it and became Seventh Day Adventists. What CO2 says os of course true, because CO2 said it, right? Baloney!
