A 20 year old girl needs prayers.
« on: Wed Oct 24, 2018 - 15:29:28 »
We just learned that the daughter of a close friend is starting to have emotional problems.

She just called home, from college, at midnight last night to tell her mother that last May... at the tale end of her freahman year in college, she had been drugged and raped. (This is not the same college... she had transferred this year.)

There was a college party. Probably end of the year. She was not drinking because she was on antibiotics but a girl told her to try a few sips of beer. She did, but it evidently was drugged.

She woke up in a hotel, no idea

Please pray that she emotionally can cope with what she is going through.

So sorry~I would want to hurt someone that did that to one of my granddaughters. If not hurt them, at least put the fear of God in them. We teach our granddaughters to stay away from parties and pick your friends carefully~and we teach them that boys have only one thing on their mind at that age, and it not reading their bibles and desiring to have a bible study with them.  And EVEN IF  they desire such, it STILL not good to trust them and leave them alone in doing even that.  Sometimes young girls put themselves in harm ways by NOT listening to their parents and grandparents. ::prayinghard::

The girl needs professional help.  The need for emotional or mental help when something is wrong is just as real as the need for physical help when something is wrong.  If you break a leg, it really doesn't matter whether it was your fault or the results of another's actions, the problem of the broken leg needs to be treated.  It is similarly true for a mental problem.

This happened at Ohio State University. She is not going there any longer. She transferred to a "Catholic" one in PA.

It happened in May.... the decision to leave Ohio was done in May but not for this reason, according to her mom.

She told her mom just a few days ago.

She told her mom she had talked to a priest about this...  and I think the priest told her to call her mom.

As to any counseling.... I am out of it.... I dare not suggest.

But RB is right..... in how you bring up girls..... And you have to teach them that you cannot trust anyone. NEVER accept a drink of any kind... not even water
from anyone and never set your glass down and leave it unattended.

This girl was raise under chastity at all costs.... But never told how to stay that way.
