Murfy

Me and my girlfriend and both christians, believers, and followers of Christ. Except, the issue is the issue is that I went through a period of time where I ignored God in my life, and I know everybody has been there, but I am recently on the track back. I want to accept Jesus into my heart again for me, because I want that peace, strength, and happiness.

But, the thing is, we have been together for about 5 months, and at the beginning I was not completely following, and she is much farther along in her journey, consistently following christ for her whole life, and now she is feeling regret for not making sure we were both followers at the beginning.

Our relationship is great, amazing chemistry, connection, and we complement each other, but we dont quite have that spiritual connection yet, but I want it! Really bad!! The thing is, she recently talked to her pastor and he recommends that we take a break, and once I find myself spiritually again, then we start over. And she agrees, since she feels we started the wrong way. And I know im not quite there yet, but this takes maturity, and this is just a heavy burden weighing on her! But I love this girl, and she loves, but I dont know if I can handle a breakup, no matter how temporary. She says we would still remain best friends a big part of each others' life.

I recently talked to my Uncle who is a minister, and he told me him and his wife are both at different parts of there spiritual journey all the time, but they both accept Jesus as their savior into their hearts, and that is all that matters. And believe me, I do this, except my girlfriend wants me to be at a "point." And I want to get there too, I just dont know where that point is, or how long it will take.

I should mention I also go to a college that is about 2 hours away, and I still see her from time to time, but its been difficult. But we are moving along, but it has just come to a point where we need to make a decision. I love this girl more than anything, and she is kind, thoughtful, loyal, and loving, and I know if it's meant to be it's meant to be and God will lead us to each other again. But I can't help think that this decision, although it could help us later, would just hurt an unbelievable amount right now, and I don't know how I will handle it.

If anybody has shared a similar experience or has any thoughts I would really appreciate it. Thank you, and God bless.

comfy

We need to support her to pray and do what she finds God wants her to do; this is how we need to love her.
