Hi folks,

I am starting out as a singer / songwriter of praise related music.  I recently composed a new version of the classic hymn Amazing Grace.

I have attached a YouTube link to my demo version of the track. Please listen if you have the time and feel free to let me know what you think.

Many thanks

Welcome baldygreg, and I enjoyed your composition, and love of the Lord will produce music pleasing to Him. Make God the center of what you're doing and not you, and He will bring the success of your work to fruition.

With your styling I was thinking of the haunting sound of an Irish violin softly playing the original music in the background modified to the timing you present your music, I think it would work.

Above all, thanks for not having a girly man dressed in a skirt playing a bagpipe. Welcome to Grace Centered Christian Forums in Jesus' name.

Hi larry2, I really appreciate your feedback and advice.  It has given me something to think about.

Yeah I think you're right, it could do with some additional accompaniment and an violin type sound would suit it well.  I'll probably add something like that if I even get the chance to record it properly, but definitely no men in skirts or bagpipes in sight haha.

God bless you Sir.
Thanks
Greg

This is a lovely version...well done! I do agree with Larry about having additional accompaniment..we have a great violin player on this forum "Cally" perhaps the two of you could work something out..love to hear the outcome...it thrills my heart to hear talent used for the Lord's glory. ::clappingoverhead::

Many thanks for you comments 'Loner'.   I'm thinking of recording it properly sometime next year so I might give Cally a call.
God bless and thank you
Greg
