*sigh*

I friended a friend of a friend on Facebook, mainly because he was funny and also a Christian (I scoped out his page and he definitely seems in love with Jesus, thankful for salvation, etc., and is super open about it).

Not looking to date, I'm super busy but who knows, nice looking guy, Christian....

A few minutes ago it showed up that he was commenting on another page he belongs to.  It's some gal who "strips" on Facebook, nice, eh??  Good to know he digs the whores ahead of time.

On a side note, a friends son who I am friends with (he is early 20s now) has been into the NRA sites, etc., nothing wrong there but I have been noticing he spends a lot of time "liking" and "commenting" on the sites that are mainly of barely clad sexy-type (I mean boobs and butts hanging out) gals with guns.  That they have a gun aint the main theme, KWIM??  Should I say anything?  He's usually a good guy but yech.

I KWYM after looking up the acronym!

When you see this, you aren't really looking at it through their eyes so it's hard to tell if they are lusting or just enjoying the scenery. Do you think there is a difference? My husband see's pages of boobies and usually calls me over to show me his new "girlfriend" but he's not getting all lusty over them and want to do me after he see's that nor does he go hide in the bathroom to take an extended shower. So IDK, it's not always in their heart to get off by seeing it. Some men can control when they see, other's can't or others must turn their heads to prevent those feelings of lust.

I think being next to them to see their reaction is going to be most telling of whether or not their eyes are full of lust. I wouldn't blow that guy with the stripper thing off just yet.

fassopony, as you say its good that you found out now and not later! It amazes me that any Christian guy would think its ok to look at pictures/things like that. Sad.
I like godly guys who have integrity and good morals, and there are still some around believe it or not. ::nodding::
Its a huge problem now, all this porn stuff.

Some churches are either blissfully ignorant or too afraid to really address this issue, so many young men (and women too) have a constant diet of porn and do not realize it is wrong.

So it may well be that a person truly loves the Lord but has a severe blindspot in this area.

yes and eventually God will deal with them about it wont He.
Must say I have been amazed at what young Christian girls will post on facebook. Photos of them in revealing clothes often in very provocative poses. Its very sad really.

It is really sad, it's almost as though it's a competition as to who is most revealing. My husband reads a lot of news from his country and I'm sure you are all too familiar with immodesty in Europe when it comes to advertising. It can be the most trustworthy news publication with a booby picture plastered next to the headline. He even thinks it's crazy because it's like that in the real newspapers too. He's desensitized to it by being exposed to nudity his whole life. I think when it is shunned and made more tabboo, more problems come with it but that's just how I have seen it effect people.

Also Fassopony, I think the ones that try to hide that they are viewing it are the ones to be concerned over.

Regardless of the reasoning behind it or why, I simply don't and won't date some guy who needs to ogle naked gals all the time...or even a little of the time.  It's just not something I will or even have to put up with.

Totally agree with you. Integrity is so important. If he does it now, it isnt likely to stop when he gets married. Its very disrespectful towards the spouse for a guy to do that(or a girl).

Perhaps he just appreciates the pictures for their artistic appeal.  Cannot the human form be beautiful without lewd intent?
Is not the sin in the mind; ie. the lustful thought, not in the looking?

Or is so accustom to nudity that it becomes boring. (whole host of other problems)

Other than that, nude pics are going to arouse him.

Off topic, but
You remind me of this, a world where nakedness can indeed not be hindering to purity in mind and heart.  What a wonderful image Lewis paints, truly a gifted author.

Quote from: C.S. LewisI cannot now remember whether she was naked or clothed. If she were naked, then it must have been the almost visible penumbra of her courtesy and joy which produces in my memory the illusion of a great and shining train that followed her across the happy grass. If she were clothed, then the illusion of nakedness is doubtless due to the clarity with which her inmost spirit shone through the clothes. For clothes in that country are not a disguise: the spiritual body lives along each thread and turns them into living organs. A robe or a crown is there as much one of the wearer's features as a lip or an eye.

My husbands friend was upset that he found porn on the history of his computer, he said his son was looking at it and didn't know what to say to him. My husband told him you should be happy he wasn't looking at men.

Exactly, i'm sure a Muslim man may have more trouble controlling his thoughts compared to a bouncer at a strip club.

The point is Chosenone, a Godly man can look at a picture of a naked woman and not be aroused. It's the one's that can't look at them without lewd thoughts that we should pray for.

That is nonsense. Godly men are real men and they would become aroused at the sight of a beautiful woman even WITH clothes on---because in Christ, everything functions well. It is a well disciplined Christian man who knows how to avert his eyes and place his thoughts under subjection to the spirit of Christ.

A bouncer at a strip club is in grave spiritual peril because his conscience is seared, and his mind is inured to lewdness. A Muslim has a built-in safeguard to protect himself from his eyes landing on something he thinks he shouldn't and that is a law that subjects women to full covering. That isn't discipline, nor is it honourable to force one half of society to take on the responsibility to prevent the other half from sinning!

Remember to pray for the naked woman who has allowed herself to be shown in such a lewd manner.

A godly man will not look at porn whether he is aroused or not. Bittersweet, Its NORMAL for men to be aroused by women, that's the way God made them! I think that it would be weird for a man to be able to watch a women strip, for example, and NOT get aroused.
That's why God warns us not to look at such things, but only at things that are good and pure. To avoid temptation. There is no way that I would look at a naked man, or go to watch men strip, or read a racy novel. That would be indcredibly disrespectful to my husband, as well as harmful to my spirit, as well as disobedient to God.

For clothes in that country are not a disguise: the spiritual body lives along each thread and turns them into living organs. A robe or a crown is there as much one of the wearer's features as a lip or an eye.

I seriously doubt that most men will see a picture of a naked lady and only look at her face. ::giggle:: Guys are only human and will be affected, even in a small way, by seeing porn.

A married guy should only ever see their wives naked.

Much of this is a cultural thing though, in places I am sure nakedness is a very mundane, un-arousing occurrence, in others the sight of an ankle may leave one hot and bothered.

Chosenone, not every man has lust in their eyes. I'm sorry you are unable to understand or see this in men.

Oh yes bitterweet, and the reason that men look at naked women is so that they can be pure in mind and heart. ::pondering::

Bitter does have a point about judging what goes on in the minds of men.  Although perhaps we can come up with a reasonable explanation.  ::shrug::

Off topic, but
You remind me of this, a world where nakedness can indeed not be hindering to purity in mind and heart.  What a wonderful image Lewis paints, truly a gifted author.

It seems to me that if lust were not involved...porn would be a nonissue completely! Like, they wouldn't even be drawn to it if lust was not present in their heart. ::shrug::

If he enjoys looking at nudity...there is always his wifeypoo. ::smile::  That would be honoring his vow of forsaking all others, having godly control over his eyes by taking advantage of the way of escape God provided from the temptation to be a looky lu, honor himself and his bride.
