Nevertheless

We all find some folks more irritating than others. If you find that a certain member makes you want to  ::frustrated:: every time you read his posts, instead of  ::tearhair:: or ::smacking:: or ::fit:: try using the Ignore List.

Here's how:

1. Near the top of any page, click "Profile".

2. Click "Edit Ignore List" under "Modify Profile".

3. Add the user name of that irritating person to your list.

4. Under Modify Profile>Look and Layout be sure the box by "Hide messages posted by members on my ignore list" is checked.

5. Ignore them. Completely. Don't send them personal messages, don't read what they write, and don't talk about them. Just pretend they don't exist. Your blood pressure will thank you.

Much needed advice.Thank you Never.

I'd only like to add that it would be wise to keep your ignore list to yourself.  Telling people you are ignoring them or publically listing people you are ignoring only serves to inflame the situation.  Nothing good can come of it, so if you feel the need to put someone on your ignore list, please simply ignore them without making a big deal out of it.

Yeah, one poster a while back was brandishing the ignore list threat at anyone who disagreed with him.
