I have not been able to get on this forum for 2 and a half day's !

What happened ?   

At a guess (cuz we don't know yet) either a server meltdown or a software collapse.

Our software platform is way overtaxed for the traffic we have. It was not designed to do as much as it does with all the customizations it has within it. I'm sure that the Admins are working on the issue & will have it all resolved soon.

Odd timing that Charles Simpson's (my all time fave SBC preacher) forums went down at almost the same time.  They got theirs back up yesterday and are trying to figure out why theirs crashed ...

The most likely answer is that they don't have enough bandwidth.  They will have to increase bandwidth or purge older files. 

The increase in bandwidth comes with a cost.  These forums are not here free of charge. 

This forum  is one of the best I belong to !

I had only been with one for years.   And it is not much for talking on the bible !   So I started to look around and found  this one.    And I really do love it.

I was not able to get on again  earlyt this morning, but just did get on now....

Now I guess I know why ?

It has been up and down a few times this morning so far.

Yes, I have not been able to get on till now its going on five in the late afternoon.

In fact finally it at least told me this could not be found.

And I tried a few more times and got on.

I only hope I will not get kicked off before I post this.

OK it is 2 pm (local) on Thursday.  The forum is starting to act somewhat normal. 
None of the loading 5 copies of the current page so you cannot get out with the "back" button.
Hitting the "reply" button at the bottom of the page brings up the bold, underline, etc menus instead of plain text only. (although the "reply" and "quote" buttons on a post loaded those menus)

Has the problem been fixed?

OK - Spoke too soon.  THe last page I visited loaded up 4 consecutive copies of the same page. 

Its better today so far !   :)

It's doing the same for me. It also seems to "hang" on some pages - trying to load but never actually managing.

Another forum I post on (eBay) sometimes does the same thing. Sometimes it helps if I click a link, hit "ESC", then click the link again. Sometimes it just refuses to load certain pages and nothing (changing browsers, closing & reopening browser, rebooting, etc.) helps.

Well, I hope it gets better for you all !

For me it is just going slow now.   I have to wait and wait............

But that is better then not getting on at all..

I blame the NSA.
