All the editing options - colour, font emboldening etc have gone - at least for me.

Nevertheless

The site is having some issues right now. It should be fixed soon.

winsome

Hmm!

Seems to be working for others. At least I see posts with colours and emboldening.

Still not working for me though.

Trumpeter

Hi winsome,
It's was doing the same thing for me so I reload the page and that has been working. Hope that helps.
God bless.

winsome

Hi Trumpeter,

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to help for me.

DaveW

I have found if you go in a different way (like "reply" instead of "quote") it will get the edit options to open up.

I've tried both but neither of them work for me.

I guess I didn't understand the problem. I thought you were trying to edit your post, but it seems that it's the buttons for the bulletin board code and smileys that isn't showing up. Correct?

I'm sure it's an issue that will eventually be  fixed, but until it is, you can type in the code yourself, like this:

bold
underline
green
italics

You must use both the opening and closing tags. "Preview" is our friend! There are several others, but these are the basics.

Now here is something interesting.

I've just posted in a sub forum that I think I haven't posted in before and all my editing options (buttons for the bulletin board code and smileys) were there.

But they are not available in the forums (like this) where I have posted before.

Added:
Something else different.
In the other forum there is a + sign against Attachments and other options below the editing box to show or not show those options, but there isn't in this one.

Strange!

DaveW

For me they are usually showing up now in all forums.  When they do not show, reloading the page has been bringing them up.

MeMyself

never mind...I hit modify and everything came back to me.  ::smile::

winsome

Sadly neither of the above works for me.

Yeah - sorry to hear that.

Hey!

Good call Dave. I had not thought of the browser.

I was using Firefox 21 but in the last few minutes it has automatically upgraded to version 22.... BUT.....
.... I have tried Chrome and it works OK in Chrome. I've also tried an old version of Explorer (version 8) and it works in that.

So it looks like something to do with the newer versions of Firefox. I wonder what's changed.

Got it!

It's not Firefox. It's Ghostery.

Ghostery is an add-on to Firefox that I installed ages ago. It blocks trackers, third party cookies, advertising (http://www.ghostery.com/about and https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/)

Either it's introduced a new feature or the way GraceCentered works with its editing/smilies etc has changed. When I put Grace Centred into a whitelist to switch off Ghostery for GraceCentered it's OK.

Only downside is I now get all the advertising on GraceCentered showing up.

Phew!

Added
Looking at the Ghostery option I think it might have added in a widgets section. I don't remember them (but that doesn't mean much).

There are 214 sets of widgets it blocks.

Nevertheless

Try the add-on AdBlockerPlus. It works for FF and Chrome. Best thing since the invention of the web.

winsome

I've found another fix.

I deleted the GraceCentered cookies!!

I've put Ghostery back to what it was and it's all OK.

I get the editing options and no adverts.

Of course GraceCentered has inserted some cookies again but one is definately missing and I guess that was the one that was causing the pronlem.

MeMyself

I am glad it all worked out for you!

winsome

Just a footnote.

Although it seemed to be Ok when I deleted the cookies the problem came back and I've had to go back to putting the site in the Ghostery whitelist. So Ghostery seems to be the root of the problem.

But that's OK. The main thing is it's working now.
