I'm new here but I have never encountered in the other forums to which I belong the same problems that I encounter on this forum.

When I want to post a response to a thread I'm always asked to fill in the extremely annoying word matches, always obscured by cross lines and blurriness, that make some of the letters next to impossible to decipher.

Then as if this is not enough, there is the stupid question that you have to answer correctly.  One question was:  how many eggs did the farmer collect from the goose that laid golden eggs?

What kind of completely moronic question is this?  How the hell do I know how many eggs there were.  Was the Goose That Laid Golden Eggs mandatory reading for you moderators in school?

Nowhere else do I encounter such complete stupidity!  Can't you relax the posting procedure to make it easier for members to respond to each other.  How do you expect to gain more members when you have such idiotic completely annoying procedures for us to follow.  It's like you asking us to go somewhere else.  Why should I stick around on a forum like this when there are many others that make it easy and enjoyable.  This site is an exercise in learning patience!  I certainly haven't gotten anything else out of it.

Well dude, looks like you made it anyway, so congrats! It's hard making safeguards to make sure that a human is creating an account rather than a human. I joined a techie forum that asked some kind of obvious question like "the baker made a dozen donuts. How many donuts did he make?"

There are a lot of sophisticated spam robots out there these days.

These questions are there to keep them and people from african nations from covering this board up with advertisements & scams.

Occasionally some will slip through but since these & other measures have been put in place the board has seen a decline in spammers & scammers.

I'm sorry you don't know or remember that the goose laid a single egg. But its somewhat a common expression.

The questions rotate. After you have been here a while and posted more the questions disapear.

SoylentGreen

Actually I put I, and one as answers.  Not accepted.  But finally got one of those other questions after just repeatedly trying.  You have a good point with the blocking of advertisements.  Excuse my hardnosed complaint.  I'm still hanging on and enjoy this forum.
