that are not 'acceptable' here in posts?  Twice now I have written fairly long responses to questions only to have the page itself say the page is not available, and if I go back everything is gone. I'm starting to think that there must be some words that are keying that off.  It does not seem to be random.

I don't think so. I have difficulties with the site on occasion also, but I have always chalked it up to the server being down or overloaded. I've read alot of your posts and I would be surprised if any words you would use would trigger any screenings. Some others I wish they would screen.

Thanks.  It does get frustrating sometimes.  I am learning before I post a long response to save it in memory first!

If you get that error, you can click the "go back" button and you will go back to the page that still contains your response.

AVZ --usually, not always.  That is partly why I asked.  Also, there have been two times where no matter how many times I tried to post something, it didn't go through, so I was thinking there was a filter that was blocking some word somewhere.

No, there is not a list of restricted words. Sometimes I'm a bit surprised by the words that trigger the filter. Some restrictions seem to be based on IP address. Our pet troll has posted as many as 12 videos in a single post, but I am limited to a max of 3 links. Go figure.

Here is what I do when a post won't "take".

1. Save my post in Notepad in case it disappears.
2. Post the first paragraph and click "Preview".
3. If it works, add another paragraph and preview again, repeating this until I get an error.
4. In the paragraph that triggered the error, look for possible causes. Eliminate a sentence or word at a time, previewing after each change, until I find the problem.

It can be a pain, but I haven't found an easier way yet.

I had that happen last week on the word "slave." I had to space out each letter to get it to post.

thank, folks.  It gets interesting!  I try to make any responses as short as possible, but when there is something I want to explain, I've learned to put it in Word first.  Then, if there is a problem, I'll take Nevertheless's advice.  Thanks.

Casino is another restricted word, would not let me use it in the news Forum.

Until the late 1980s, casin0 gambling was illegal almost everywhere in the country.


As you can see it is allowed in the first sentence but not the second. Weird.

Hmmmmm...... I thought maybe the caps had something to do with it, but apparently not. This is strange. I can post the word several times as long as I don't write anything else.

Yep, it is OK, as long as it is the last word.

What I have found is that sometimes the words go thru and other times the system chokes on them.

It is not consistent. It can change from minute to minute.

ETA:

C a s i n o did not go thru capitalized at the middle of the sentence.  NO.

Let us see if c a s i n o will go thru in the middle of the sentence with no cap.  NO.
