If you see an ad on this website that you feel is inappropriate, please report it here.

Here is one for you.  It is for some fantasy on line game from Wartune. It shows a scantily clad young woman with a cross bow.

Love can expel darkness!
Make love against the evils with her NOW!

I didnt see this thread and posted a thread about an ad on here in the Discussion Forum, but it disappeard.  Do you know what happened to it Nevertheless?  It was about a dating serivce appearing Christian and showing pictures of women with big breasts, clearly displayed and almost bulging out of their blouses.

Nevertheless

No.... I didn't see it. Perhaps it was moved by another mod.

Okay, thanks.  I wasnt exactly complaining, I just thought it odd to see the pics of ladies with their breasts almost hanging out on a Christian site.

Wycliffes_Shillelagh

I didn't move it, but I do know which ad you're referring to, Stucky.  I saw that the other day.  I don't believe that site is a Christian dating site.  We'll get it cleaned up, but it takes a little time.

::blushing::  I just got smacked by my wife for looking at the girl with the humungous breasts on a dating site too long.  If she kills me, Ima sue this website.   ::smile::

MyFathersGirl

I'm not sure how to copy it but if you look in the Christian women forum under "help with husband" there is an add is an add that appears to be a video of a woman barely wearing a bikini.  It says "Click here-Turn off the lights!" You can just imagine what is in that video if you click on it

Nevertheless

I do not see the ads, so I can't look for the one you are reporting.

If you hover your mouse over the ad, a web address will appear in the lower left corner of your browser window. Write it down, then come back to this page and type it into a post. I will then report it to Admin.

MyFathersGirl

Yeah they must switch ads because the next time I went to that thread there was a different one.  Thanks for the tip though and next time I see it I'll do that.

HiddenManna

Been seeing some of these ads with a lot of skin and body parts of attractive young women as well, I see others have noticed and have posted their concerns, I will attempt to follow the instructions given to other members. If I had seen these things on any other site I would have tried to remove them from my view as fast as possible, I hope these type of ads will not be allowed to be continued on a site that promotes the Name of Christ.

HiddenManna

As I rolled up this very page I see a ad from ZOOSK? That I would not think should be promoted on a Christian forum.  What is the purpose of these ads if not to stimulate the lust of the flesh?  Come on, what kind of Christian forum allows such things?   ::headscratch::

Yes, I am shocked at the "Male Gamers only" adds that are on display throughout this forum. They can only be described as what the Bible calls 'passion inflaming' and as said above 'lust of the flesh' a very bad look for a Christian Forum.

DaveW

After a while you just tune them out.

One shouldn't have to, especially in a Christian domain, surely??

I would hate to think that they would be the cause for "a little one to stumble.... woe to those who do the tempting"

All the ads that I see are about getting a seminary degree, dating sites mention finding the one that God has picked out for me, and a whole bunch of Fluke Meters...I don't even see the secular stuff at all.

Mostly because it is based upon your cookies in your computer.

I hear what you are saying ... this makes no sense to me as I am the only person who has access to my computer and I don't get these kind of ads at any other site that I visit ... I certainly don't visit any site that is remotely in keeping with the kind of ads that are being displayed here in this forum.

Is there a way of blocking out such ads???

How is it that you do not see the ads? Is there something I can do so I don't see them either?
Thanks.

But why are they there in the first place ?
Are Rules only for us posters ?

For the most part, Google taylors its ads to each individual user.  There are exceptions to the this and sometimes google will show ads at random, especially if one does not have a google account or if he/she "opts out."  Otherwise, ads are based on google searches, websites visited, even items ordered on amazon.  Google does this by "cookies" on your computer to keep track of your online activities.  It then taylors its ads to reach the best audience (ie, those most likely to click on the ad).  So, the ads that you see will not be the same as the ads someone else sees.

That being said, this site does not have any control over which ads google shows.  All the administrator can do is block certain ads.  That is why he has requested that the users report ads they deem questionable.

Nevertheless

One of the most important statements in this discussion has been missed, so I will repeat it:

This site does not have any control over which ads google shows.  All the administrator can do is block certain ads.  That is why he has requested that the users report ads they deem questionable.

Also, it is nearly impossible to block an ad without knowing what website it points to. A vague reference to the ads that "show too much skin," for instance, just doesn't cut it.

Just saw another bad one - some game with rather realistic animated women who were barely dressed and falling down.  Putting the cursor on the animated ad gave me a string of cyber-gibberish wider than the page, starting with "doubleclick."  But buried in there was "gtarcade.com" which may or may not be actual site.

At the start frames it says "League of Angels."

Nevertheless

Thanks Dave. I'll pass it on to Admin.

DaveW

did a google search.  www. gtarcade. com  is definitely the website.  Apparently it is a new browser based arcade game.

Would it be possible to block ALL video game ads?   They seem to be among the worst offenders.

Nevertheless

I don't know, but I'll pass along the suggestion.

I saw it too Dave, but quickly move on.  It did surprise me to see.

Thanks.  Just saw (wished I hadn't) another version of that "angels" ad where a woman strips down to her underwear ....   ::frown::  ::blushing::

DaveW

Got another one for ya:  DateAsianWomen.com

Shows pics of pretty young Chinese women with buttons to email them.

Thanks, Grams, but we have to have a website to block. "I saw a lady in a swimsuit" is not something we can do anything about.

grams

It was  suggestive !    She was pushing her boobs to face  who ever was there, and her back end and wiggling  it around.

I just did not want to say more at the time.   But it was not good !

I understand that it was not a good ad. We just can't do anything about it without knowing what website the ad was promoting.
