What does Manna mean?

I am curious as to what the word Manna mean? I hope it's not a bad thing. I got one manna. I hope it's a good thing.

Very simple: it means "What is it?"

Manna is something 'good' in theory, something you give to someone when you like their posts, or something someone gives to you when they like your posts.

You don't need manna to give manna. I think you might need to have posted a certain number of posts to give manna; I can't remember now.

If you look at the Simple Machines forum software documentation, this "approval count" was once called "karma". I think GC renamed it manna in order to make it sound more... Jewish? The problem is that real manna turned to worms after one day, unless you collected it on a Friday, then two days.

A better re-name might have been "blessings", to suggest a term.

You can give 2 per day after 50 posts have been made.

They only mean how popular a persons posts are...

We used to have negative points too but people whined about them.

I simply wish there was a way to track what received manna.

I don't blame them for whining about the negative points. If you don't like something someone says, you should simply ignore what they post. Not give them negative points.

It had been done in a spirit of jesting and frivolity. (All the negative points) and actually was running similar to manna.

But ONE person could not and would not get the joke....so it was removed from sight.....but i still have my negative points

Actually we can give more than two points a day, I know I can give out at least 5, manna for all y'all on this thread. Perhaps we are limited to giving two to one particular member in a day?
