I wanted to share something vitally important especially to singles like me who want a form of intimacy but don't want it in artificial means like sexually explicit acts or getting drunk or high to get a feel good. Did you know that its possible to get intimacy and good feelings straight from God? its true there is a scripture in Ephesians which states" Don't get drunk on wine, which leads to wild living. Instead be filled with the Spirit by reciting psalm, hymns, and spiritual songs for your own good. Always thank God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."- Ephesians 5:18 - 20. You see this is not only a command as some have stated it. Its an alternative to sin. God created us as intimate emotional beings and He wants to meet those pains wants and desires. He's the all in all. No item person or sin can even come close to giving the love He wishes to rain down on His dear children. note verse 19 carefully " by reciting psalm hymns and spiritual songs" that is how we keep on being " filled with the Spirit ". the next time you are feeling down, lonely, or depressed lift up a song of praise to God and he will lift you up.

Great post, I know for me now that I am filled with the Spirit I wake up in the morning singing(off key) and dancing because of the joy that I have from Just being alive and seeing a new day. Everyone should seek and have this feeling!

That's congruent with this as sort of the "alternative" to joining in intimacy I think:

1 Corinthians 6:16-17
Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, "The two will become one flesh."
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
