ForATime

by wife.

She communicated no chance of reconciliation and her intent to divorce in future the same day as her withdraw filing.

Neither application has been considered by the court yet.

Does that means she filed and then withdrew her filing the same day?

ForATime

Sorry. No.
It means she filed then filed a withdraw.
On the day of withdraw filing told me that she intends to divorce!

What is a withdraw then?

Could you both go to mediation so that you can communicate about what is going on here?

ForATime

We have an appointment in a few weeks but she is selective in what she will discuss

chosenone

well you can bring things up when you are with the mediator, and make sure that they are discussed. Its mean to you to manipulate your emotions like this. You dont know where you are. Has she been challenged by anyone at your church on why she is doing this and what Biblical grounds she has for it?

They are failing then, unless she has stopped going to church which is what many in her position do.

She attends

That is surprising.  My ex wife stopped attending church altogether.

Thats usually what spouses who are acting badly do. As if they can run away from God by not going to church. ::eek::  My husbands ex stopped going and hasnt been back in 10 years as far as we know.
I am surprised that no one has spoken to her about what she is doing. At least my husbands and his exes pastor challenged her and told her she had no reason to be divorcing him, even if she did take no notice.  ::frown::

Is that the church you both went to?

Not past tense. Present tense!

Are you still both attending services at the same church?

To be blunt, the church leadership has problems then.  They are tolerating sin.

Amen, why isnt she being challenged on her sinful behaviour? They are failing badly. UnlLess she has good reason, she is sinning by threatening to divorce you and she will be held accountable for it.

Someone there should be offering counseling to you both at the very least.

It could be that she is telling people a pack of lies, as did my husbands ex did, to get people 'on her side'. Its amazing how people will make up things and skew the truth to justify sinning.   ::frown::

More than counseling.  You would think even if she had lied to get folks on her side, that ForATime, would have been taken aside and given the riot act, lovingly, of course.

After my husbands ex had met another (non Christian) man who had been divorced three times, began a relationship with him  and was divorcing her husband, people in their church were still coming up to him to say that they were going to support  her and not Him(few knew about her new man of course). This is the mistake of believing everything we are told, however wrong it may be. My husband being a godly man said nothing against her at all and didnt feel the need to defend himself.  The ONLY one to challenge her was their pastor and her reaction to him was 'no one is going to tell ME I cant get divorced'...not even God it seems.   ::frown::
Too many pastors shrink from their godly duties when members of their church are committing serious sins. I know people who have been going to their church for years while living with someone outside marriage. One was even asked to lead a house group ::eek:: Her answer was, 'well being that I am living with my boyfriend, I dont think that is a good idea'   ::shrug::
