Gen 2:24 "Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. " From the beginning God ordain that man and woman to be one flesh. A relationship interdependent, interwoven and interlaced God is the author of marriage. He is the glue that joins husband and wife together. True love is always grounded in God's love. This is why the love relationship is always threefold. Marriage is two independent souls trusting God's reconciling grace to be a fortress a midst all the storms of life.
When considering marriage the counsel of patience and restraint are very important.  It takes time to know another person. Marriage is a commitment you make to love and serve until the end of life. It is very important to share as much as you can in developing friendships. No one should ever consider trying to marry someone who has not proven to be a true friend. Anyone who desires your body but does not want to know you as a person is simply lusting. A truly loving friend is concern about your total well-being in relationship to God and man.
Single people also have the capacity to love and be loved. Sex is only for the expression of love within the bond of holy matrimony.  Single people should seek to develop friendships that encourage caring, wholesome affection. Rom.12:10 "Be kindly affectioned one to another" 1 Peter 5:14 "Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity" The sin of lust as destroyed the love that the church once had for one another. It is a sad day when the world can show more affection for one another than the Church. The Church is the place where people say to one another "I love you".  There can be no better place than the family of God to find friendship and discover God's will for one's life.
