Nor is the power of the resurrection dependent upon which day it took place, save in your apparently confused mind.

GE:
Sounds pretty good after

QuoteAmo:
Your petty judgments are just that, petty and without substance. You don't have a clue why I do what I do. Perhaps you should stick to what we all have the responsibility of judging for ourselves, what is truth and what is not, and avoid judging that which we have not been given the responsibility of judging. There is a reason were not supposed to judge others hearts or motives, were not very good it, as your have just demonstrated.

GE:
I take it to heart; I love it. It shows you do hear me. But that's not what I'm here for. I'm here because of this you are saying,

GE:
Dear Amo, This is perfect example of what 'twisting' another's words, means.

Watch, What I say, is, The day (of worship, the Sabbath) being the day upon which Christ rose from the dead, 'is dependent upon the resurrection' and the Power of his Resurrection, to be the "Day of Sabbath's-rest for the People of God". Hebrews 4:9.

But you, fraudulently, make me say and mean the very opposite, that 'the power of the resurrection (is) dependent upon which day it took place'!

And now, For as long as you deny the Sabbath the honour and dignity which the fact of the Resurrection of Christ Jesus "ON" and "IN" it --an honour and dignity it before did not have--, invests in it, in VAIN do you rave over and shout foul against the myriads of historic, social and political crimes for the sake of Sunday sacredness which for two thousand years have been rampant in the world and in the church alike-- crimes which have indelibly marred both Christianity and history!

The Scripture is marvelous; who cannot see Jesus Christ in his Resurrection from the dead, in this written word of God's!?

"Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a Man to afflict his soul? Is it such a day I have chosen for a Man to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Wilt Thou call this a Fast—Acceptable Day to the Lord? 6 Is not this the Fast that I have chosen, the Day to Loose the bands of wickedness, to Undo the heavy burdens, and to Let the oppressed GO FREE, that Ye, Break every yoke?" Isaiah 58:5,6.

The LORD chose such fast as that which Jesus Christ fasted, "three days thick darkness" impenetrable indistinguishable "three days and three nights-of-Darkness", "a day for a Man to afflict his soul... to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him"—  "this, that Day, that Fast, to be solemnly observed The Selfsame Whole Day BONE-Day"—Day in Suffering, of Substance, One—"the Selfsame Day", "the selfsame", "Pains of death"— by "agony and anguish of soul unto death", of "the Son of Man".

God chose Jesus' Fast; He chose Jesus' Fast "as That Day for the Son of Man to LOOSE the bands of wickedness" in, and "loose the pains of death" upon, and "UNDO the heavy burdens", and "REST-up-again" The Sufferer, of Death's "Sleep" in; to "Revive" Him from Death's "fast" and "pains" and "power" and "LET GO FREE THE OPPRESSED"! Therefore "BREAK He every yoke", "every seal" of death and the power of death, "and cast He the stone" and "burden" "from the tomb"— cast He DEATH, AWAY! "BY THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION" from DEATH'S Grave!

I belong to a denomination for now, but I care nothing for defending a denomination, save defending the truth ends up also defending that denomination.

GE:
As Christian I care nothing for belonging to or defending any denomination. But I care, so help me God, deeply, for the Resurrection and the Power of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead— the consummate Truth "wherefore the LORD GOD the day The Seventh Day from all his works, RESTED", and "there THEREFORE for the People of God remains eating and drinking of Sabbaths' Feast of Christ the Substance"... "IF JESUS GAVE THEM REST"!

QuoteAmo:
...the express purpose of establishing two separate and distinct signs each representing the ultimate choice of humanity in relation to God. One representing complete submission to God through Jesus Christ by faith in the word of God itself, and the other representing all other forms of satanically inspired man made methods and traditions of self salvation.
GE:
...not surprising in the light of 'the ultimate choice of humanity in relation to God' which Adam and Eve made, not to God's choice or will, but quite literally by the 'satanically inspired man made...choice of humanity' for 'self salvation'— according to the Genesis 'tradition in the word of God itself', right from day one of their creation.

QuoteAmo:
Christ ... allowed for the establishment of a spurious day of rest and worship to be established in place of that which He has commanded. ... One (that which He has commanded) representing the offering of Abel, the other (spurious day of rest and worship)  representing the offering of Cain. One representing the Mystery of Godliness, the other representing the mystery of iniquity. That all (of humanity) may choose between the two (day(s) of rest and worship) in one generation when God sees fit to bring an end to all save His own. Sunday sacredness is the deception of God's own choosing, allowed for this very purpose.
GE:
The 'representations' from Cain and Abel and 'the Mystery of Godliness' and 'the mystery of iniquity' which you are here trying to bundle with Sabbath and Sunday observance from Cain and Abel to the present in the Scriptures, not at all strange, is nowhere to be seen in or deduced from any, Scripture, frankly. And your calling 'Sunday sacredness...the deception of God's own choosing' yells against all Scripture and the doctrine of Christ. It is such bad logic one cannot even call it twisting of Scripture.

There is much that could be said in response to the twisted thoughts you posted, but this would only encourage you to continue to Babyl-on. This thread is about Sabbath and Sunday and the implied legalism of seventh day Sabbath keeping by legalistic Sunday keepers. It is not about which day our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rose upon, though you are obsessed with making it so. I will no longer respond regarding this issue you won't stop bringing up here. Babyl-on, what you will. If you start another thread to present your case, perhaps you may get some response, though not many are responding to much here anymore.

All emphasis in the following quote from the link provided above is mine. My comments in blue.

QuotePoland Leads the Way in Bringing Back the Day of Rest

It was A.D. 321, and the Emperor Constantine decreed that the venerable "Day of the Sun" ought to be dedicated to rest. As we read in his imperial edict: "The magistrates and inhabitants of the cities shall rest on the venerable Day of the Sun, and all the stores will remain closed." But it was Emperor Theodosius I in 383 who converted the "dies Solis" into the "dies Dominica," or "day of the Lord." The Lord's Day is the day of Christianity par excellence, in which the key words are tradition and family.

And now, amazingly, in a strange coincidence just a few days before Christmas 2017, family unity, traditions, and rest have returned to the center of public attention, if not so much to the attention of the media, since the Polish Sejm (the lower house of parliament) voted in late November to return Sunday to being the Lord's Day for everyone and thus also for shop-owners. By 2020, all purchases on Sunday will be made illegal.

So no one can buy or sell on Sunday.

At the heart of the purpose of this law is the express desire to allow the people of Poland to have more time to spend with their families and less time shopping on Sundays. With 254 votes in favor, 156 against, and 23 abstentions, the legislation introduced a year ago by "Solidarnosc" – an  originally Catholic and anti-communist movement that with the fall of communism became one of the leading trade unions of the nation – is now in the hands of the Senate, and it will be presented to President Andzrej Duda for his definitive approval. Under the law, beginning in March 2018, stores will be allowed to remain open only on the first and last Sunday of the month. Then, beginning in 2019, only the last Sunday of the month is allowed, and finally, in 2020, the ban will be almost total. In fact, Sunday shopping will be permitted only on seven Sundays of the year, including the two Sundays before Christmas and the Sunday before Easter. Foreign chains with wide distribution will have to conform to the new arrangement, but not small shops like bakeries.

I'm sure all those poor people who were forced to shop on Sunday, are now so happy that they don't have to anymore and have been delivered unto rest by the combined forces of Roman Catholicism, Unions, and the government. All those poor people have finally been delivered from evil Sunday shopping.

On the heels of the "rosary on the borders" (of October 2017), this is now the second time that Poland is taking a striking position to affirm, and reaffirm, to the world its Christian roots and identity. It is a gesture that is much more than symbolic if one remembers the history of a nation like Poland, whose memory cannot whitewash its "red past": the torments of the communist regime that tried to change Poland's identity precisely by beginning with an attack on the concept of the Lord's Day.

The "new man" of communism was in fact supposed to be the protagonist of a society without classes, and the sign of his "novelty" was the tendency to be always busy, never idle. Idleness, understood as mere inactivity, not sloth in the communist and socialist moral code, was the disease from which to free the soul. Idleness was the vice that damaged the diligent construction of the communist utopia and was not only harmful to oneself, but also considered a distraction for everyone else. And so the idea of the Lord's Day, which was in its essence heretical to the communist, was soon eradicated by the same members of the Communist Party who concerned themselves with giving a "good" example by working on the the seventh day of the week and compelling everyone else to do the same.

Apparently, the writer of this article does not know that Saturday is the seventh day of the week, and Sunday is the first day of the week.

Endless work conquered everyone and everything. The communists sought to annihilate Christianity by way of attacking Sunday, which, in postmodern society, led to checkmate. Communism chained the workers to itself, and everyone's horizon shrank, deprived as they were of seeing the "sky" of Sunday. Sundays without rest or reverence have been attempted in Europe's past as well as in its present, now ever less Christian, depriving it of its soul. But Poland, which evidently is still holding onto its soul, has decided to free itself from every trace of its red past and to facilitate the sanctification of Sunday for everyone.

CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.

2186 Those Christians who have leisure should be mindful of their brethren who have the same needs and the same rights, yet cannot rest from work because of poverty and misery. Sunday is traditionally consecrated by Christian piety to good works and humble service of the sick, the infirm, and the elderly. Christians will also sanctify Sunday by devoting time and care to their families and relatives, often difficult to do on other days of the week. Sunday is a time for reflection, silence, cultivation of the mind, and meditation which furthers the growth of the Christian interior life.

2187 Sanctifying Sundays and holy days requires a common effort. Every Christian should avoid making unnecessary demands on others that would hinder them from observing the Lord's Day. Traditional activities (sport, restaurants, etc.), and social necessities (public services, etc.), require some people to work on Sundays, but everyone should still take care to set aside sufficient time for leisure. With temperance and charity the faithful will see to it that they avoid the excesses and violence sometimes associated with popular leisure activities. In spite of economic constraints, public authorities should ensure citizens a time intended for rest and divine worship. Employers have a similar obligation toward their employees.

2188 In respecting religious liberty and the common good of all, Christians should seek recognition of Sundays and the Church's holy days as legal holidays. They have to give everyone a public example of prayer, respect, and joy and defend their traditions as a precious contribution to the spiritual life of society. If a country's legislation or other reasons require work on Sunday, the day should nevertheless be lived as the day of our deliverance which lets us share in this "festal gathering," this "assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven."[125]

We know that the evolution of social-economic conditions has led to the profound modification of collective behavior and consequently of the appearance of Sunday. As St. John Paul II wrote:

The custom of the 'weekend' has become more widespread, a weekly period of respite, spent perhaps far from home and often involving participation in cultural, political or sporting activities which are usually held on free days. This social and cultural phenomenon is by no means without its positive aspects if, while respecting true values, it can contribute to people's development and to the advancement of the life of society as a whole. All of this responds not only to the need for rest, but also to the need for celebration which is inherent in our humanity. Unfortunately, when Sunday loses its fundamental meaning it is man who becomes incapable of celebration.

Poland wants to restore this understanding to its people, giving less opportunity for grazing in alienating shopping centers just for the perverse sake of doing it, but without falling into the dull banality of not realizing that "the sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath."

Sunday is not the Sabbath and never was. The Roman Catholic government of Poland has determined for its people what they will believe and do according to the dictates of the Roman Catholic church. This is the dark ages all over again. The Catholic Church used our nation, the United States of America, to help them overthrow communism in order to reestablish their own dominion over the same. That is all this country or any other is to the Roman Catholic Church. All nations are used by her as stepping stones manipulated unto her own exaltation, thus does she continually commit fornication with the kings and governments of this world.

And if – as someone were to object, "This solidarity between church and state is becoming disturbing, the PiS [Law and Justice party] has changed everything in less than two years: the legislation, the press, and the society. Every aspect of our liberty is at risk"[/b[ – the government has no intention of eating from the hand of the latest sociologist. Also, in the meantime, the prime minister-designate of Poland, Mateusz Morwiecki, who took office on December 11, in his first speech spoke of "dreaming of a Europe which returns to being Christian." With the nomination of Morwiecki, Poland seems to have certified his ambitions. The 49-year-old Catholic, father of four Catholic children, has declared that he is profoundly saddened by the fact that "the churches are empty and are being transfomed into museums and you never hear true songs in them any more."

In conclusion, Poland has begun its counter-revolution, and it does not seem to fear the threats of the politically correct. The first step appears to be modifying Sunday – not in order to introduce changes of an economic nature, but to restore harmony to reality. For Poles, in fact, the day of rest represents "opposition to the exclusivism of the ideal of work" – a break that is actually part of the deeper work of watering the Christian roots that give life and moving ever away from the specter of communism.

Translated by Giuseppe Pellegrino.

This is exactly what the Roman Catholic church will establish everywhere as soon as she attains the power to do so. The evangelicals and once "Protestants" of this nation that are now joining hands with her again, are part of her same plan of domination in this country. These apostate "Protestants" will aid her efforts to establish Sunday sacredness by law, if not do it for her altogether. At which time Sunday sacredness and worship will become the mark of the beast predicted in the book of Revelation as proclaimed by the SDA church of the past and by some still at present for over 150 years now. The continued Romanizing of our nation through legal and illegal immigration is also part of this over all plan conducted by Rome's Catholic minion politicians thwarting every effort to prevent the same within.

QuoteIn reversal, North Dakota House votes to repeal blue law for Sunday opening

The North Dakota House voted by the thinnest of margins Tuesday, Jan. 31, to allow retailers to open on Sunday mornings.

The 48-46 vote was a reversal of the House's decision Monday, when it rejected a repeal of North Dakota's Sunday closing law. That statute makes it a Class B misdemeanor to operate a business that's open to the public before noon Sunday, although exceptions exist for restaurants, hotels, hospitals and other businesses....................

"We should let this be up to individuals," Kempenich said...................

"Simply put, government shouldn't tell private businesses when they can and cannot open their doors," she said in a statement. "Many people have limited time to get their errands and shopping done over the weekend, and allowing retailers to open for business before noon on Sundays is an important step to strengthen North Dakota's retail sector and overall economy.".......................

Rep. Mike Nathe, R-Bismarck, agreed.

"I own my business and if I decide to have it open for two more hours on Sunday, that's my decision as a business owner, not the government's," he said on the House floor Tuesday.

QuoteWhat's happening with Sunday work in Europe?

...................................

Hungarian ban over Sunday's opening revoked

In December 2014, the Hungarian Parliament passed a law forcing (most) shops to close on Sundays from 15 March 2015, the main rationale being to prevent people having to work on Sundays. The bill was opposed by the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ), the Hungarian Council of Shopping Centers (MBSZ), as well as the Hungarian Trade Association (OKSZ). It had been initially supported by the Trade Union of Commercial Employees (KASZ), but after consultation, KASZ found that 90% of its members opposed the idea because they felt it would cut their wages and increase their already excessive workload. A public opinion poll showed that 80% of respondents were also against the Sunday ban. However, the law was shrouded in controversy and, on the government's initiative, Parliament revoked the Sunday ban in April 2016 meaning that the legislation was in force for only one year.

Restriction of store opening hours in the Czech Republic

After a long legislative process (the bill was approved by the Senate in June 2014), the Czech Parliament approved a bill on 28 June 2016 restricting the opening hours of stores during public holidays. The act, which applies to shops with a floor space greater than 200 square metres, bans sales during seven specified public holidays. The exceptions are petrol stations, pharmacies or shops at airports, railway stations and bus stations.

The Czech Chamber of Commerce (HK ČR) and the Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism (SOCR ČR) strongly opposed the bill. They are currently preparing an appeal to the constitutional court, as they deem the new legislation to discriminate against entrepreneurs with large stores and against the commerce sector. HK ČR and SOCR ČR consider the act to be a bureaucratic intervention in market mechanisms that goes against European trends. They further argue that such regulation will result in a drop in sales and VAT revenue, and job losses for those employees who have difficulties in the labour market and who are often among those working on bank holidays. In contrast, the Trade Union of Workers in Commerce (OSPO) supported the proposal, arguing that it would help employees reconcile their professional and family lives.

As is obvious, many people, even the majority at times, do not agree with government control of business operating hours and personal decisions regarding rest from the same. So, who are these people that continually seek to force their will regarding Sunday rest upon all through legislation? As is obvious, they have been identified on these threads. As is obvious as well then, the Church of Rome and many other professed "Christians" today, have no problem combining church and state to force their own wills upon all.

Interesting, in this article the opening statement suggests that under communist rule stores were closed on Sundays. Only after communism fell, could people shop on Sundays. Now, dominant Catholics shut down Sunday shopping again, apparently as comfortable with this level of control as the communists were.

Chick-Fil-A demonstrates true conviction in action. It seeks no aid from the state in following through with its convictions regarding Sunday rest. The business is booming because of the same. It provides a good example of faith in action, which faith never needs to be aided or enforced by the state. To the contrary, all faith which requires or employs the aid and arm of the state is a false faith. Leaning on temporal power over the power of the God they are supposed to believe in.

The following quote is from the article of the above link. It is no surprise of course that Maryland or other states or counties with a heavy Catholic population support temporal enforcement of their religious beliefs.

QuoteTo evaluate properly the validity of challenges to blue laws, and the constitutionality of state enforcement approaches, it is necessary to review briefly the history and purpose of Sunday closing legislation.

I. HISTORY AND PURPOSE

Sunday legislation has been in existence since 321 A.D. "when Constantine the Great passed an edict commanding all judges and inhabitants of cities to rest on the venerable day of the sun.",2 1 Although secular work on Sunday was not violative of English common law, statutes were enacted beginning in 1676 prohibiting work on Sunday.22 The initial English law, which became the basis for virtually all of the Sunday closing legislation in the United States, read as follows:

For the better observation and keeping holy the Lord's day. . all . . . persons. . shall on every Lord's day apply themselves to the observation of the same, by exercising . . the duties of piety and true religion, publicly and privately . . and . . . no tradesman, artificer, workman, labourer, or other person whatsoever, shall do or exercise any worldly labour, business or work of their ordinary callings, upon the Lord's day, or any part thereof (work of necessity and charity only excepted: . . .).23

Despite the clearly religious origins of Sunday closing laws, in McGowan v. Maryland2 4 the United States Supreme Court found blue laws to have secular purposes of "provid[ing] a day of rest for working persons and an atmosphere of tranquility in which to enjoy it,"'25 "provid[ing] a day of rest for all citizens (presumably encompassing both
working and non-working), 26 and "set[ting] one day apart from all others as a day of rest, repose, recreation and tranquility - a day which all members of the family and community have the opportunity to spend and enjoy together."27 These purposes "have become part and parcel of this great governmental concern wholly apart from their original [religious] purposes or connotations."28 Although Sunday closing laws arguably are unnecessary in light of other federal and state constitu- tional and statutory provisions which prevent forced labor in violation of an individual worker's rights,29 many legislatures have found it necessary to enact such laws.

National Sunday laws already established in Taiwan. All emphasis in the following quotes from links provided is mine.

http://www.scmp.com/news/china/policies-politics/article/2095029/looking-back-tumultuous-first-year-taiwans-president

Looking back on a tumultuous first year for Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen

.................................................................

Her shiny economic scorecard aside, on Friday, the eve of her first anniversary in office, Tsai also touted her achievements in various domestic reforms, including transforming Taiwan's economic structure and improving the social security network, upholding social justice and fairness and promoting the island's foreign relations.

In a conference with journalists from overseas-based Chinese-language media, Tsai said she has not only promoted so-called "five plus two" innovative industries and a NT$890 billion "forward-looking" infrastructure development plan, but also launched pension reform and long-term care for senior citizens, promoted transitional justice for indigenous people and pushed for judicial reform.

She stopped short of mentioning labour reform, a controversial topic which most opinion polls show is a major reason for Tsai's approval ratings tumbling since she took office in May from a high of 56 per cent to a low of 18.4 per cent, notwithstanding the sharply improved economic figures, analysts said.

Recent surveys put her public approval ratings at between 28 per cent and 36 per cent. An online poll by the Taiwan Democracy Watch civic platform gave her an approval rating of only 18.4 per cent, versus 76.4 per cent disapproval.

"Her five-day workweek or the so-called 'one fixed day off and one flexible day off' policy greatly disappoints workers who have to pay the price because of her wavering, after a backlash from management," said Chien Hsi-kai, convener of the Anti-Poverty League.

As a result of the new rule, most employers who had to pay employees overtime now ask employees to take hourly compensation leave instead, thereby reducing opportunities for employees to earn extra income to cover already-low salaries – some still sitting at NT$22,000 a month, their wages unchanged for years.

"I used to get around NT$15,000 in addition to my original NT$32,000 a month because of the overtime pay, but because of the five-day work week measure, I am forced to take the weekend and Sunday off,"said Johnson Lee, a 30-year old hair stylist, who took part in a May 1 labour protest aimed at the Tsai government.

KMT slams Tsai's workweek directive

The Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) caucus yesterday said that President Tsai Ing-wen's (蔡英文) directive to the legislature to "ram" through a proposed five-day workweek with "one fixed day off and one flexible rest day" (一例一休) was a betrayal of workers.

Tsai on Monday instructed the Executive Yuan and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) caucus at the first weekly High-Level Policy Coordination Meeting to push through a draft amendment to introduce a five-day workweek with two days off before the end of the year.

The KMT caucus said that Tsai's changing of the phrase "one fixed day off and one flexible rest day" to "two days off weekly" (周休二日) was an attempt to obfuscate the policy's goals, as it still does not meet workers' demands for "two fixed days off."................................

Article 36 of the Labor Standards Act (勞動基準法) stipulates that "a worker shall have at least one regular [fixed] day off every seven days."..........................................

SDP convener Chen Shang-chih (陳尚志) slammed the president's call to "unify all public holidays and establish a uniform system size=14pt]applicable to every person in the nation"[/size] as "extremely unconvincing."

Summary of the Amendments to the Taiwan Labor Standards Act

..............................................................

The key points of the amendments are: implementation of a five-day work week; a sharp increase of wage for working on a rest day; reduction of national holidays; increase of days of annual leave; method of arranging annual leave and payment for unused annual leave; rest time between shifts; employers' obligation to provide information on wage calculation; protection of whistleblowers'/workers' right to file complaints; and raising fines for violations of the LSA.  The amendments have significant impact on employers' cost and arrangement of human resources.  Employers must take such amendments into careful consideration.

An explanation of these amendments is as follows:

I. The implementation of a five-day work week (i.e. two days off per week) with one fixed day off and one rest day (Paragraph 1 & 2, Article 36 of the LSA)

1. A worker shall have two days off (one fixed day off and a rest day) in every seven days. The actual day of the fixed day off and that of the rest day shall be decided by the employers and the workers. The common arrangement is to set Sundays as the fixed days off and Saturdays as the rest days.

2. The main difference between a fixed day off and a rest day: Employers shall not ask workers to work on fixed days off unless in the event of a natural disaster, accident or emergency. While employers may ask workers to work on rest days, the wage for working on a rest day has been significantly increased (See Sections 2 and 3 below for details).

QuoteThe European Sunday Alliance is convinced that working on Sundays endangers the health and safety of workers as well as the social cohesion in our societies. The challenge of reconciling increasingly flexibilised working schedules with social and civic commitments had just been discussed at the last breakfast meeting of the Interest Group Work-Life Balance in the European Parliament on 22 February 2018. Only a well-protected common work-free day per week enables citizens to enjoy full participation in cultural, sports, social and religious life and allows for reconciliation. That is why the European Sunday Alliance commits itself to safeguarding a work-free Sunday.

The European Sunday Alliance calls on all its members and on all citizens to take action on 3 March 2018 as the European Day for a work-free Sunday with special activities, Church services and information points in order to raise awareness about the unique value of Sunday for the European society and the importance of common free time in a digitalised society.

The European Sunday Alliance is a network of national Sunday Alliances, trade unions, employers' organisations, civil society organisations, churches and religious communities committed to raise awareness of the unique value of synchronised free time for our European societies. CESI has been a member of the Alliance since 2017.

The European nation's new law sharply restricting Sunday shopping provides an opportunity to take a closer look at American habits.

Nicholas Wolfram Smith
Sunday has just become a little less busy in Poland, thanks to a new law banning most commercial shopping that took effect in March.

And Poland's move, which bucks the prevailing trend in secularized countries toward an ever-more commercialized Sunday, could provide a constructive example for the United States, where the network of state "blue laws" that once restricted Sunday business activities has been substantially reduced...........................

Yes, the Catholic church will most certainly bring Sunday laws to the US as soon as possible.

Right, the US Congress invited the Pope of Rome to come and politically advise all of them and the rest of the
federal government, but the church has no influence over the same. More Catholics are presently serving in our Congress and other branches of the Federal government than ever before, and they have all been instructed by the Vatican to bring about Catholic social teaching and doctrine within our country and all others in which they reside through legislation, but the Church has no influence in or over our government. DENIAL!

Little late to claim that such could not happen. It has already repeatedly happened all over the world and in this country many times over. This is not to mention the delusional element that God will allow to come upon all of humanity before the end.

2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

How Europeans are fighting back against Sunday trading

For the past year, the Castel Romano Designer Outlet 12 miles south of Rome has been the site of a battle over the Sabbath. Its owner, the McArthur Glen Group, operates outlet malls in nine nations and prides itself on its "long-established heritage of drawing inspiration from regional architecture, building materials and traditions" – which explains why the mall looks like a pasteboard Italian village. There is a grandiose cheapness to the place, as if Italy itself were being sold at 70 per cent off an inflated price.

Valeria Ferrara had asked her boss at the Calvin Klein outlet for an occasional Sunday off to spend with her husband and two-year-old son. Rather than grant her request, the company transferred her to a location 30 miles away. Ferrara protested against the decision by chaining herself outside the store. Earlier this month, faced with negative publicity and pressure from a local union, Calvin Klein abandoned its plan to tear mother from son.

We should be cheered by Valeria's triumph and sobered by how rare it is. Once conceived as a universal right, Sabbath rest is increasingly the privilege of the wealthy few. According to the European Observatory of Working Life, labour on Sunday is becoming more common, with 30 per cent of Europeans working at least one Sunday a month. People in the poorer nations of the European periphery (Greece, Italy, etc) are much likelier to work several Sundays a month than those in wealthier countries. Germans work fewer Sundays than anyone else – even as their political and financial leaders press Sunday labour on other nations.

Ferrara's case only occurred because Italy liberalised Sunday labour in 2011 at the urging of Prime Minister Mario Monti, a technocrat installed to please German bankers. Monti's premiership showed how thoroughly the European Union now embodies that principle attributed to Emperor Joseph II of Austria: "Everything for the people, nothing by the people." One of the things instituted for but not by the Italian people was a provision that compelled 4.7 million of them to work on Sunday.

Populist movements across Europe have begun to push back. Earlier this year, Poland restricted almost all Sunday shopping with a law backed by the Catholic Church and the Solidarity trade union. Hungary banned Sunday shopping in 2015 but repealed the measure a year later, while retaining 12 public holidays and the right of workers to take Sundays off.

The Five Star Movement and the League, which have just formed a joint government in Italy, both campaigned against Monti's reform. As Alessandra Bocchi has reported, in 2013 Five Star introduced a law that would bring back Sunday closing. "Let's once again put the person at the centre of public policy, not these unsuccessful market theories," said Luigi di Maio, Five Star's leader. His party's proposal was denounced by the Council of Europe.

Campaigning against Sunday shopping allows populists to combine an economic message with a cultural one, standing in defence simultaneously of workers' rights and a Christian command. It is no coincidence that the two are connected. Only by recognising the authority of God can we be freed from the worldly powers that enslave and oppress us – including those found in the market.

In the case of sabbath laws, refusal to acknowledge Christ's reign has directly led to the economisation of everyday life. The EU's 1993 Working Time Directive stated that the minimum weekly rest period "shall, in principle, include Sunday."

But in 1996, the European Court of Justice annulled this rule, saying that "the Council has failed to explain why Sunday, as a weekly rest day, is more closely connected with the health and safety of workers than any other day of the week." In the name of a shallow secularism, the Court opened the door to the exploitation of millions of Valeria Ferraras.

Only those who recognise that the common good concerns a man's soul can explain why we should legislate rest on Sunday: to honour the God who on that day rose. This is why we call Sunday the Lord's Day – domenica, domingo, dimanche.

We first hear the term in the Book of Revelation, where John reports that it was "on the Lord's Day" that he had his great vision. Ever since it has been the day on which we glimpse paradise, enjoying freedom in communion with God. As Benedict XVI put it, "On the Sabbath there are no masters and no servants; there is only the freedom of all the children of God ... For this reason the Sabbath is the heart of all social legislation."

Christians down the centuries have defended the day we now neglect. When the 4th-century Martyrs of Abitinae were asked why they had defied Diocletian's decree forbidding Sunday worship, they said, "Sine dominico non possumus", which means "We cannot live without Sunday. We cannot give up this thing of the Lord."

It is striking how many Catholics have given up this thing of the Lord. Even those who can afford Sunday rest do nothing to guarantee it for others. As Benedict XVI saw, Christian politics begins with the Sabbath. Our task is to secure it in law – not as a privilege for the powerful, but as a right enjoyed by all.

There is no command anywhere in the bible to rest on the first day of the week as a Christian duty. If as the above article falsely claims, Sunday rest used to be understood as a universal right, then why were so very many Sunday laws enacted and enforced upon apparently so many offenders. Since when is a persons right to do something, grounds for forcing everyone else to do it also. Rights are exactly protections against being forced to do something, not the underlying principle of forcing everyone to do something. To the contrary, this is what the Catholic Church refers to as an inalienable ethical demand. Not surprising of course, that the Catholic church in cahoots with unions backed up the Sunday laws in Poland. Which they will no doubt do as well where ever and when ever possible.

"Christian" Sunday laws come to us via the Roman Emperor Constantine, not the bible or any command from Jesus Christ or His apostles. They have been supported and continue to be supported to this day by the Pontifex Maximus of the Roman Empire, the Pope.

QuoteGeorgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed Senate Bill 17—the "Sunday Brunch Bill" or "mimosa mandate"—making it the law of the land and thrusting the state into the 21st century. Residents in each city and county throughout Georgia can now decide whether to allow the sale of alcohol at restaurants in their communities on Sundays beginning at 11 a.m. via a local referendum.

Deal inked his signature on the measure Tuesday morning—the last possible day to sign legislation passed this year by the state's General Assembly.

While Senate Bill 17 (SB 17) allows restaurants to serve alcohol on Sundays starting at 11 a.m. rather than 12:30 p.m., it seems the new law does not permit Georgia consumers to purchase alcohol before 12:30 p.m. from grocery or liquor stores.

QuoteNew Italian government plans to curb Sunday shopping - Di Maio

ROME (Reuters) - The new Italian government will introduce a ban on Sunday shopping in large commercial centres before the end of the year as it seeks to defend family traditions, Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio said on Sunday.

In a bid to spur economic growth, the then Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti liberalised Sunday trading in 2012, despite pressure from the Roman Catholic Church and unions who said the country needed to keep its traditional day of rest.

"This liberalisation is in fact destroying Italian families," said Di Maio, who is head of the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement. "We need to start limiting opening and closing times again," he told reporters.

Earlier this year, Poland restricted Sunday shopping as the conservative government in Warsaw pushed ahead with what it said was a return to Roman Catholic values.

The Italian and Polish initiatives run against a slow liberalisation of Sunday shopping hours throughout Europe, where retailers face pressure from a boom in online shopping.

Small shopkeepers in Italy have long sought to overturn Monti's reform, saying their businesses face unfair competition from the big malls.

Di Maio said that larger stores would also have to close on national holidays.
