Do you pray with your children?

Two years ago when Peggy was 8 and asked Jesus into her life, she's prayed with me every evening. For some unaccountable reason my daughter suffers anxiety, but it brings her closer to me and I love her gentle presence.

Ephesians 6:4 from the Good News Translation says: 'Parents, do not treat your children in such a way as to make them angry. Instead, raise them with Christian discipline and instruction.'

While I've never needed to discipline her, I instruct her in Christianity and reading our bibles with a commentary. Basically we just get on with living our lives to its fullness. It's been a happy, often joyful ride with Peggy. I have another Christian Mum friend whose daughter is same age as mine, and some evenings we get together to pray with our kids. We end our fellowship with singing a chorus.

I was wondering, do you parents, even single parents like me pray with their children? My daughter is strong in the Lord, and is a very good listener. She's also a good chooser of bakery goods, but we won't talk about that.  ::sarcasm::

My Daughter is 17, my son 19... and we still pray together every chance we get.  ::groupprayer::

Ahh, that's lovely! Praying together with your children is building on such a strong foundation!

Yes, and we do have a very close relationship also.

No, we pray for them.

All 4 of our kids are professing atheists.

Well, in that case, I'll link my prayer with yours for your children. And with the prayer of agreement they won't stand a chance.

Hey dear brother in Christ, is this 'binding and losing' promise as per Matthew 18:18? If so, I am reaching out to ask if you would be in agreement also to pray for the deliverance of a special young friend of mine who suffers depression, and is so close to asking Jesus into her life. She's going through the shredder in having a bullying father, just like I went through many years ago.
