Is this Mentions feature designed to be a Gossip meter? It sure seems so. Gossip is the Devil's Radio.

The mentions feature is used to catch the attention of a specific member. It's used to alert a member that he/she should read that specific post. I used it not long ago to alert Rella to read the post I was making. How in the world can it be used as a "Gossip meter?" Are you worried people are gossiping about you?

If you want a specific person to read your post, you post a @ in front of their name in the post and they will be notified to read that post.

I'll show you @Jaime. You should now receive notification to read this post.

Some members will say, "I never saw that post." When we @ them, they will see that post.

Rella and I have used it to notify each other to read a post, and both of us have used it to notify notty to read a post since he refuses to answer our posts and often claims he doesn't read them. He has to read them when we @ him.
