I grew up Catholic. I went to non denominational protestant churches as a young adult for many years. I met my wife and got married in a protestant church. Actually, not a church but a banquet by a protestant minister.  I returned to the catholic church several years ago My wife is protestant and will remain protestant. I go to the protestant church that we met at. I still go to the catholic mass on my own but miss many times. I try to get to confession. Many times the protestant minister preaches against catholicism which really angers me. I had to share.... I get so confused. After the recent scandal with the roman catholic church I was about to leave it. But I miss it.  Being that I am unemployed, yet again, I wonder if it's God's say of getting me back to the Catholic Church. But I know that's too simplistic a way of thinking. After years of being unemployed I did have a priest perform some sort of prayer over me removing a curse. I thought it worked. I got two jobs... I thought it worked. Here I am again unemployed. I'm confused...

I have to say that I wouldn't ever go to a RC church because I see so many wrong and unbiblical beliefs and teachings. The longer I have been a Christian the more I realise how many errors there are.

Of course I am not a RC.

HI,
Of course I don't know your situation but one possibility is that God is testing you.
It sounds a little bit as though having returned to the Church you are expecting everything to go smoothly for you.But we worship God for who he is (and what he has done for us) not for what we expect him to do for us.

No Catholic doctrine (properly understood) conflicts with scripture (properly interpreted).

Catholica

While curses are sometimes in fact real, there are people who have not been cursed who also end up unemployed.

Jesus doesn't guarantee prosperity in this life. I don't know if the denomination that is confusing you is teaching. Know that in this life you will have troubles but fear not for Jesus has overcome the world.

I'd invite you to keep coming to the Catholic Church. It IS going to be confusing going to any two different "denominations" whether they are both Protestant or one Catholic and the other Protestant. Because no two "denominations" preach the same thing.

You were fortunate that you were born into the Catholic Church because it is the historical church that Jesus founded on St. Peter and promised to send the Holy Spirit so that the truth could always be preserved. Because if the truth had not had God's help preserving it would be lost by now and so salvation would be lost with it.

If you are going to have to endure anti-Catholic preaching in that church I'm sure that your wife would understand if you stopped going to it. Invite her to come to yours at the same time. It is not fair to you to have to endure that. And if that other Church was the true Church why would they be so keen on one other particular denomination being "false"? The answer is that the Catholic Church is a threat to them, and they may not realize why, but it is a threat because the Catholic Church teaches the truth and the truth is powerful against half-truth!

I invite you to contact me if you wish, if you have questions. I teach RCIA at my parish. My email is ralph_malph@yahoo.com and my real name is André. And it is nice to meet you!

Who cursed you, and why do you need a priest to remove the curse?
