Senerio: let's say a guy who is now divorced for 15 years no kids from ex spouse plus no communication in any way shape or form in 15 years. This same guy out of curiousity research his ex and this is the conclusion. She is currently living 400 plus miles away and is married to another. There is not much info in contact, social media, health etc.

So where does this guy stand bibically? This same guy will not contact her, she is married, she may be still alive maybe not, 15 years has passed, she lives 400 miles away.

What particular question do you desire to be answered for you? Is he free to remarry again?  Why all the scenarios?

Biblically, he isn't married.

Biblically, he isn't married.

And how would you conclude such a thing?

"Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder." They said to him, "Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?" He said to them, "For your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so."

Because he is divorced and she is married to another.  Pretty easy concept.

Jesus acknowledged the woman at the well was married multiple times and was living with a man not her husband.

Christ said that a man who marries a woman who was already married commits adultery, and the same for a woman.

And He told the woman at the well to "go and SIN NO MORE."

What did the Church said about divorce in the 2nd century?  The 3rd?  The 4th?  All the way up until the mainline Protestants started to normalize it in the 20th?  Do you know?

planetshaker

15 years has passed
No-contact at all
No way to find out if she is still alive
Even in a senerio if she can be contacted the likelyhood is next to zero

Would you say this guy is 100% loose from the ex and has freedom to remarry

I recognize God's Word as authoritative but not the RCC.  God's Word teaches we are free from the bond in cases of abandonment and adultery.

The church was probably not so liberal back eons ago when it came to divorce and remarriage. So that means backs hundreds of years ago they must of been right??? Surely the early church must done righy like burning people at the stake, witch hunts, murdering native americans indians without just cause just to name a few. But hey as long as they are right about marriage back in the 1700's we can overlook the atrocities.

According to the Bible, your fellow can continue to live his life albeit without any romantic relationship at all.  If he participates in one he will be guilty of the SIN of adultery - as has his former wife.

Today adultery isn't thought to be much of anything, but according to the Bible its still a SIN worthy of punishment.

Then again nobody considers the Bible to be much of anything either - do they?

Then again nobody much cares what God's opinion is on any subject - adultery notwithstanding.  God isn't supposed to make moral judgments and isn't supposed to punish anyone for SIN.

Is that correct or is that not what most Americans believe today?

that's me, hollering from the choir loft...

Biblically he CANNOT remarry her.

Deut 24:1
"When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out from his house, 2 and she leaves his house and goes and becomes another man's wife, 3 and if the latter husband turns against her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife, 4 then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her again to be his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the Lord, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance.

Let's put the Bible aside for a moment.

Returning to a former spouse is (a) absolutely moronic, and (b) disrespectful of oneself.

And yet we have entire denominations teaching that one MUST do that.

A portion of my brotherhood does.    I wouldn't entertain the thought of reconciling with a defiled woman.

It is part of the doctrine of once married always married.
