2 Samuel 7:10Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
2 Chron. 17:9Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,

God gave this prophecy to David along with His promise of an eternal dynasty.  Now, we must remember that, at that time, Israel was one nation, with David ruling all 12 tribes. They were in the "Promised Land", secure from their enemies although there were skirmishes quite often. They appeared to be in no danger from larger nations.

But God said He WOULD appoint a place for them! They hadn't yet been moved. And, God went on to say they'd be moved no more! They were certainly moved from the "Promised Land", so God musta been referring to another place.

Anyone care to shed some light on this prophecy? I shall add my own thoughts later.

It's 1 Chronicles 17, not 2nd.

I hate to maybe bust your bubble, but... God gave Israel a temporary place to rest. In final He is going to gather Israel back to the holy land He promised their fathers.

Jer 31:2
2 Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
KJV

That is about God having scattered Israel to new lands where they would have temporary rest. That happened in The Gospel of Jesus Christ with His establishing of the western Christian nations, the "multitude of nations" of Ephraim per Gen.48.

Jer 31:4-8
4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.

6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, 'Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.'

7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save Thy people, the remnant of Israel.

8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
KJV

There's more about that gathering in Ezekiel 37 which winds up with the kingdom of Israel established again with both 'houses' put back together, but under Christ Jesus.

Well, ACTUALLY, we can't overlook the 2 Samuel prophecy. The "lost tribes" of Israel are "out there" somewhere, and are strong nations, but they don't know their original national identity.

Could the USA be the "nation" & the British Empire, the greatest empire ever up to this time, be the "nation & company of nations" ? At one time, these two entities controlled some 80% of the world's resources!

And who has been modern Israel's greatest friends ? The USA & Britain, of course. It was Britain that allowed modern Israel to be formed, as it had control of the area. And the USA armed & financed them til they could stand on their own. And our 2 nations are still Israel's greatest friends.

(No, I am NOT a "British Israelite" !)

The Dome of the Rock currently sits in the middle, occupying or close to the area where the Holy Temple previously stood.

God allowed it because He was finished with Old Covenant Jews in AD70.

Well, ACTUALLY, the fact was found by some Hebrew University professors who illegally explored the passages under the Dome that the temple sat BESIDE the Dome's site. However, Islam would explode if the Jews were to erect a new temple beside their Dome.

God was actually finished with the Old Covenant at the "Last Supper", where Jesus introduced the New Covenant. It was sealed with His death on the cross. But God was NOT finished with the Israelis at that time ! He is still dealing with them today as he said He would, despite most Jews' continued rejection of Jesus as Messiah.

Illegally (says you) but for God's sake. God was done with Biblical Israel in AD70. They either conformed to the apostles "Christian" belief or they suffered God's wrath.

All one need do is follow Bible history about God's Birthright first given through Abraham which includes The Gospel of Jesus Christ, and then simply look to see where it was fulfilled.

We already know who first accepted The Gospel on national scales after it was rejected at Jerusalem. And we already know God promised to make of Jacob "a company of nations", and not just the single nation of Israel in the middle east. We also know the prophecy that Ephraim's seed would become "a multitude of nations", which was the prophecy to Jacob transferred to Ephraim. And we also know that his brother Manasseh was also to become a great people.

I'm not a British-Israelite follower either, but a follower of God's written Word, which those things are written. It's the false Jews who want to try and hide these things from God's people and the world. But of course our Heavenly Father may have a hand in hiding it a bit today too, waiting until it's His time for it to be revealed with the gathering of the ten tribes back to the lands He promised their fathers.

  iZZATSO ?

So, you believe that Judah being a sovereign nation again, with Jerusalem as its capital, is just a coincidence ?

Why don't you just go and live in Israel?
