I hear there are issues with the forum. What are you still seeing go wrong?

It's not working with Chrome, when we try to post we're sent to a page that states "The information you are about to submit is not secure", there are two options, "Go Back" or "Send Anyway". If you click Send Anyway you arrive at a page that says "An Error has occurred" and you are logged out.

In Edge it's pretty much the same only the forum allows you to post from the page that states "The information you are about to send is not secure".

Haven't tried FireFox since this workaround seemed to be working.

I see the following at the top next to the url - "Not Secure". Doesn't happen on the home page though.

One bit of good news, the resident troll has been quiet. Not sure why though.

Because we can't accept new members. I should have let admin know that little detail also. My bad.

I can no longer send a topic via email (send this topic)~at least it never arrives. I have sent several to my daughters, wife, friends that never arrived.

Also, if I reply to someone's post, it will not allow me to post it~I have to come back~ copy and then delete and go to the thread and hit reply, and THEN paste my article, it is the only way I have found to work at least for me.

In answering a post while in the midst of answering and you want to answer another person's post along with the one you're answering, you just can not hit insert quote (Insert Quote) and see it appear, you must do it manually by copying and paste.

Sheriff, while you're in town~let me ask this question~two or three years ago I had a computer failure and had to login in under RB when I was originally under Red Baker and lost about 5000 posts or more I cannot remember~is there any way to pick those up under RB? It is no big deal but would like to be able to have them all under one name because it is easier to have them all under one name for a few reasons. 

As RB, I have this issue.

  But ironically only on the two older laptops. The one newer lets me quote and post as should be.

As to your issue of Chrome Alan. I only use chrome and nothing else yet here I am.

Insert quote has never worked for me since I joined GCM.

The "Not Secure issue that Jaime mentioned has been with me for months now.

It almost seems that different people have different issues at times.

I might note that last summer two people were trying to join GC but were unable. And it seems as if no new members have come on board for a long time.

There might be another issue that I am not remembering. If I do I'll post again.

I stated my issues with Chrome, they are exactly as you and Red have described. I'm using Edge at work and only for this forum and it allows me to use the Quote and Post buttons with minimal aggravation.

I still get this too much.

Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy, firewall, and DNS configuration
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

And this on every reply or post

The information you're about to submit is not secure
Because this form is being submitted using a connection that's not secure, your information will be visible to others.

Where I have to hit send anyway or go back

Interesting.

I get the McAfee screen of rejection sometimes on this site.  Since it is not a porn or terror site it does not get reported to management, but it is annoying.  The text says the server did not reply in a timely manner.

I haven't been able to reply with a quote for months now, I have to copy my reply along with the quoted text, hit the browser back button, and then use the forum reply function. I can then paste my reply, adjust the text, and then post. I've lost countless replies because I have forgotten that hitting "post" when I have a quote contained in my reply, takes me to never never land, and when I hit the back button, everything has disappeared. Aggravating.

We've also not had a new member here for going on two years now.

That is exactly what I do. Hit quote, type reply, copy, hit back button , hit paste, then post.

Yes... I too have lost replies for lack of hitting Post.

I started 2 years ago to copy into an email letter... reply there and then copy and paste and fine tue here.  If it does not post I have the email draft to go back to.

Unfortunately I sometimes am lazy and hate myself when I lose a reply.

But has it really been 2 years?

We have a a few posters in the past few months with less then 10 replies....
Where did they come from...

Tomorrow Ill see if I can find any names.

They appear to be new posters but they actually registered quite some time ago.

Pro Tip: right click on Quote and choose 'Open in a new Tab."  Voila!  It magically works.

Just to be a little clearer, certain functions work differently on different browsers. At work using Edge I'm able to use the right click method, at home on my main desk top (Chrome) I have to use the copy and paste solution but on my Linux converted Surface tablet (Chromium) I can quote directly.
