Jewish Americans are closely following the recent upsurge in antisemitic rhetoric and actions with a mix of anxiety and resolve — along with a yearning that a broader swath of Americans, including leaders across the political spectrum, speak out against anti-Jewish hatred.

New Yorker Rizy Horowitz, who runs a program in Brooklyn providing meals and activities for Holocaust survivors, says the widespread vitriol prompts her to ask: "When can I pack up my suitcase and run away?"

"It's a very frightening moment. There is no other word," said Horowitz. "We're all frightened because we've seen the past and we don't want to relive it."

As for those spewing the hate, she says: "Have I done something? No. It's just I'm a Jew."

And yet, the Jews characteristically vote democrat, the party most often to directly be pro anti-Israel.  Maybe they, as a group, should rethink their alliances.

The reason for that is the right wing (GOP) has been traditionally VERY antisemitic.  The white supremacists and skin heads that perpetrate violent acts against Jews and Blacks mostly vote GOP.  When Trump was Prez elect, a Jewish lady friend of ours was in Florida and coming out of a restaurant, was asked by a woman if she was Jewish. She said Yes, to which the woman said she was glad Trump got elected, and "as soon as he takes office he is going to drive your kind out of the country. "

But now the Dems are becoming antisemitic as well.  They are starting to re-think that Dem support.

White supremacists and skin heads are such a small minority of the GOP that should never be a reason to vote democratic.  And I would have to see some evidence, actual evidence not Leftist talking points, that the right wing has been traditionally very antisemitic; I simply do not believe that.  It has been characteristically the southern democrats that were anti-Jewish. Let's be real here, Nazism is left wing and so is Fascism, regardless of what the social media leftists like to say.

Yeah, I didn't believe that the first time you told it. Not saying you're lying, but this friend of yours? This is right up there with Jussie Smollett and MAGA COUNTRY BABY!

You know, this narrative implies the woman who supposedly said that to a complete stranger was a Trump supporter. Trump supporters, even back then, knew Trump's son-in-law was Jewish, that Ivanka had converted to Judaism, and their children were Jewish. That was common knowledge among Trump supporters. So it's just difficult to believe a Trump supporter would be thrilled about the prospect and running around telling Jews that Trump was going to run them out of the country. Like I said - smacks of Jussie Smollett.

Trump seemed to have a lot of right wingnut followers;  Skinheads, white supremacists, neo-nazis, etc.  And I am not really sure why.  I do not think Trump himself racist, but for some reason the racists seemed to like him.

Jaime

Biden and Obama before him sure had a lot of left wingnuts. Also both are INCLUSIVE of that group. And I know why.

And I agree with Mommydi about Juicy Smolyay. The French fake victim. rofl
