Rella

She is in the hospital because Sunday she fell and yesterday could barely walk.

They found her with a fractured femur and while no operation she
will be treated with therapy....

Hospital for a day or 2 then evaluated if she can come home with home therapy.

Trouble is... she will not be able to put her weight on that leg
(BATHROOM?)

She had bad dementia and is 90 years old.

The other optio is rehab place. But it will be a very long time

And I will need to go be with her for hours every day and feed her.

It is a mess.

Thanks

pppp

Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. ...
James 5:14-15

Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.
Exodus 23:25

"'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for one who believes."
Mark 9:23

Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed."
Luke 8:50

Thinking and praying for you and your mother.

mommydi

Praying for you and your mom!

Texas Conservative

That really sucks.  I am sorry to hear that.

Reformer

She has my prayers. God bless all.

I'm so sorry that both you and mommydi are going through such distressing times with your moms.  The complications must feel overwhelming for you.  Women of this generation were and are amazing, and to hear of their suffering in their declining years puts any minor problems of my own far in the background.  I will be praying that God will smooth out the difficulties in her healing, and give you both strength.

Heard from Rella this morning. It sounds like her mom is making the transition from this world to the next. Could be a few days or even less.

Rella has no siblings to help her through this.  ::prayinghard::

Jaime

Thanks for the heads up Di. I will be praying for her in the coming days. With the chaos our move I had overlooked this thread before.

Just now seeing this, so sad to hear, will be praying for our sister.

Rella

Thank you Mommydi, Jaime and Yogi.

Just posting that mu mom crossed over last evening and I am leafing in about 45 min to see the funeral director.

Such a mixed blessing.

I miss her so yet the way she was suffering I am glad she is out of that.

Horrible, horrible dementia that was worse because of her anxieties and fear.

What a miserable disease, and the meds barely took the edge off the anxiety unless she had enough to keep her asleep.

Ironically 7 weeks ago her worst worries was a broken femur and at age 90 no operation... plus it was right next to a hip replacement.

But from the ER, to rehab therapy for almost 3 weeks, and then the inability to come home not able to walk and a walker or wheel chair wont work in this house. Had to go to assisted living memory care... on Sept 19 and it was basically downhill from there.

A friend visited at lunch on Sat... She was eating then but started with the fear talk... and out of town family was here Sun and Mon and we went to see her and she was just in bed and I had been told it was a matter of time and so she is now in God's hands, At least her spirit is. And out of
a miserable time for the past year or so.

Thanks again guys...

mommydi

So sorry, Rella. Praying for your comfort and peace. You cared for her for years. She was blessed to have you as her daughter.

Having lost my wife a couple of years ago, I know your conflicted feelings with the loss but knowing she is now with Jesus.  With my wife it was a devastation for me but a blessing for her.  I know that is how you must be feeling with your mother's death.

She is just fine and no longer needs our prayers, but my prayers continue for you. I perceive that you are a strong woman.  You will make through just fine with our Lord's help.

Jaime

Rella, you are right dementia is a horrible thing. I pray that you get some well deserved and much needed rest, and experience the peace that you were a wonderful daughter to your mom.

And I thank you also Jaime though it seems like rest is a far way off now that things have to be settled and this house has to be put right again.

But while that is work, it is different and not stressful.

Thank you again

Alan

Very to sorry to hear this news Rella, prayers for your peace and comfort through this difficult time.

I know it's very hard, my own mom fell down and broke her hip at the end of August. She had successful surgery but at 88, she's having a hard time getting back on her feet.

So sorry. Mine was 90 and the break and confinement away from home I think sped her demise. But the horrors she went through with her dementia
no one should ever.

Thanks Alan
