Old topic started by RB, but this is new coverage of Revelation 13:3.

1. There are 2 different 'beast' types declared in Revelation 13 & 17.
2. The 1st beast of Rev.13:1 is about a 'beast kingdom' that has 'ten horns, seven heads, and ten crowns'.
3. The Rev.13:1 beast kingdom is in contrast to the Rev.12:3-4 beast kingdom which Satan drew a third of the stars (angels) to earth with, back in the old world when he first rebelled against God.
4. The Revelation 13:11 "another beast" is a 2nd beast, a beast 'king', and not a kingdom, but instead about a false one that will 'ascend' out of the bottomless pit and work miracles to deceive the whole world. It is about Satan himself, for he is the angel of the bottomless pit and king per Rev.9 & 11.
5. Revelation 17 reveals the "seven heads" of the 1st beast kingdom represent "seven mountains", or geographical areas upon the earth.
6. Revelation 13:3 shows one of those "seven heads" was wounded at some point, and is later healed by the time all the world wonders at that beast.
7. By the time of Rev.13:12 when the whole world will worship the 1st beast, that deadly wound will have been healed.

NOTE:  per Revelation 12:3-4, the previous beast kingdom which Satan first rebelled with in that old world, had only "seven crowns". The final beast kingdom of Revelation 13:1 is to have "ten crowns" instead. That revelation means to not confuse what the 'beast' idea means, for Rev.12:3-4 points to Lucifer's original rebellion in the old world prior to Adam. And that original beast example is the 'model' for all the later ones, with the Rev.13:1 beast kingdom for the very end of this world being the closest example of that old model.

Revelation 17 also is pointing to those 2 different beast types, a beast kingdom, and a beast king. Jesus left it for us to determine which beast 'type' was being shown to John in that Rev.17 chapter. It means really paying attention there, and first understanding about the 2 different beast types covered in Rev.13, a beast kingdom and a beast king.

Rev 17:8-14
8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

That is about the 2nd beast type, the coming Antichrist. And it is about Satan himself, for only he will "ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition". As of today, ONLY Satan and his angels have already been judged and sentenced to perish at the future "lake of fire". No flesh born man has been judged to perish yet, not even Judas who betrayed our Lord.

Satan "was" = his time back in the old world when he served God at His Altar, and was exalted as the cherub that covereth (Ezekiel 28; Isaiah 14).

Satan "and is not" = refers to the time when God ended that old world and thus Satan's original rebellion against Him.

Satan "shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition" = Satan getting ready to be booted out of the Heavenly dimension down to our earthly dimension, along with his angels, for the time of "great tribulation" at the end of this world. All those whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of this world will WONDER at who he really is. That will be because of the GREAT SIGNS & WONDERS & MIRACLES he will manifest on earth, raining fire down from heaven to the earth in the sight of men (Rev.13:12-14).

Rev.17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
KJV

Six beast kings are past history today. The 6th beast king was represented by Roman emperor Domitian in Apostle John's day. The 7th beast king, the Final Antichrist at the End of this world, has not come yet, and will be Satan himself playing Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, in plain sight, on earth, with his angels here also with him. We are getting ready to see the SUPERNATURAL right here on earth for the time of "great tribulation". This is why... it will be a time of "great tribulation" like the world has never seen before, nor ever will again. If you do not understand this from Bible Scripture yet, then you are most likely still deceived, and not prepared for it...

Rev 12:7-12
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night."

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
KJV

That "short time" is the time at the end of this world for the "great tribulation" Lord Jesus warned us about. This is actually what the 'stinging' of Revelation 9 is about which God's servants are SEALED from with God's Seal by The Holy Spirit, so we would NOT be deceived by Satan and his angels when they arrive here on earth.

This definitely does NOT mean Satan is just going to be possessing some flesh Antichrist to hide and work through. Per God's Word, Satan also has the image of 'man' as all the angels do, since the image of man is from God's Own outward likeness and appearance he created all the angels with. Satan's host keep pushing the lie that the coming Antichrist has to be some flesh-born man just because of that 'image of man'. Not true, as Archangel Gabriel's name even means 'man of God'.

So it's up to you brethren to get into your Bible and understand about these coming events upon this earth, and not be deceived when Satan comes, in person, de facto, claiming to be Messiah of The Bible, in Jerusalem.

Your analysis of Revelation 13 and 17 offers a unique perspective on these biblical passages, highlighting themes of deception, supernatural events, and the role of Satan in the end times. You distinguish between two types of beasts mentioned: a beast kingdom and a beast king, drawing parallels with Satan's original rebellion against God and emphasizing the deceptive nature of the coming Antichrist. The interpretation underscores the impending "great tribulation" described in Revelation, emphasizing the supernatural events that will occur and the deception orchestrated by Satan and his angels. This perspective encourages readers to delve deeper into the text and consider alternative understandings of its symbolism and prophecies.

Everyone knows of the seven mountains of Rome, doesn't take much to put it all together...

What about these "seven heads" (mountains) linked back to Satan's original rebellion of old?

Rev 12:3-4
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
KJV

It is very easy to know that original beast kingdom of old mentioned in Rev.12:3-4 is not about the beast kingdom of Rev.13:1 for the end of this world. Back at Satan's original rebellion is when he drew those one third of the angels ("stars") to earth with him.

Did the city of ROME exist back then when Satan first rebelled?

NO! of course not.

This is why trying to use the idea of Rome having 7 hills is a poor excuse for interpreting the Rev.13 thru 17 beast harlot "great city".

Per Lord Jesus in Rev.11:8, He showed Apostle John the "great city" is about JERUSALEM in a false worship state for the end of this world.

One beast many titles  7 hill all the hills. lok to the spirutl understnding in parables

One beast, many titles.

Without parables, the signified or written sign language of Scripture, the hidden understanding of Christ is missed. As it is written, "without a parable spake he not unto them."

The seven heads are not necessarily seven literal hills. In parabolic language, seven is often used to represent fullness or completeness. The seven hills can represent all the kingdoms of this world under the rule of fallen mankind.

Matthew 4:8
"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them."

Luke 4:5
"And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time."

The mountain represents kingdom authority. The vision was not of one hill or one city, but of all the kingdoms of the world.

In the same way, the beast has many titles but represents one worldwide kingdom of rebellion against God. The focus is not seven literal hills, but the spiritual reality behind the signified prophecy.

In the end, the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever.

Sorry. Ok so then your did not literalize the parable? What is the spiritual understanding hid from the lost?

Quote from: garee on Fri Jun 12, 2026 - 06:28:42Sorry. Ok so then your did not literalize the parable? What is the spiritual understanding hid from the lost?

I don't agree with your view about parables.

A parable is simply a tool in all languages to express a LITERAL object or event in a way that is easier to understand, like, "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse". Do I literally mean that I want to eat a horse? No, of course not. But by that I do LITERALLY mean I am hungry enough that if it were possible, I could.

Thus parables are not 'spiritual' in their own right. That they can be is the thinking of men's doctrines.

As for the Babylon Harlot woman metaphor, or parable if you want to call it that, it is about a real object, that object being declared in the last verse of Revelation 17, that the symbolic 'woman' represents a "great city".

And in Revelation 11:8 prior to reaching the Revelation 17 Chapter, Jesus showed the "great city" idea in relation to where the "two witnesses" are killed and left laying in the street of Jerusalem (or plaza per the Greek).

This means the Babylon Harlot "woman" represents JERUSALEM at the end. Not Rome, not a pope, not the EU, etc. And a symbolic adjective is used in that Rev.11:8 verse applying the idea of false worship to that "great city", which that verse in final tells us that is where Lord Jesus was crucified, which means Jerusalem. That is so easy even a little child can figure that out.
