Considering the sexy clothes, dance moves and lyrics Brandy's parents let her get into while she was still a minor, quite young, I'd wondered what in the world her parents were thinking!

But then, I guess everyone's got a different "righteousness meter".  That's what happens when you switch from Schoolmaster Law to the Way... it's not as much about measurable specific things you've done wrong, as it is about what was in your heart when you did them.

What about "Weird Al" (Don't mean Gore). Someone told me he was, but it could be a joke.

A couple of additions (scouring my memory)--a man who used to preach for us had decades earlier preached in St. Louis, and he mentioned members of the baseball Cardinals who attended his congregation, but the only one I remember is Ken Boyer.  Also, Wilbert Montgomery, former Eagle running back, is a member.

Hmmm. . . Dwight Yoakum grew up in a CofC in Columbus, and occasionally donates money to Ohio Valley College in Parkersburg, WV, where a former elder of his childhood congregation was the longtime president.

I'm sure I've heard of others, but I can't think of them now.

Fascinating discussion.  Had a few "weird" Al's in the churches I've served...

Heard that Todd Beamer grew up in an indy CC in Virginia.  Anybody know for sure?

Alright.  I'm going to come off as more of a country music fan than I actually am, but here goes:
Rhett Akins (sang "That Ain't My Truck) is C of C.
Glenn Campbell (yeah, the Rhynestone Cowboy)  I saw on VH1 "Behind The Music" that he was baptized in a C of C.

Oh, and by the way, I know that Weird Al was already mentioned, but in addition to being a member of the C of C, he is also a deacon

Pop Diva "Brandy" is a member of the coC. Cedric "The Entertainer" is also. I heard that Peabo Bryson is but I have no confirmation. "Wierd Al's" a member? Well, go figure! :D

Surely we have room in the brotherhood for the author of "Amish Paradise" and "Pretty Fly for a Rabbi".  Anybody got the scoop fer sure on Weird Al?
