Booty is off the forum until he gets phone service back.  He expected the wait for phone service from his new location to be a minimum of one month.  Guess it may be taking longer than expected since it's been about a month and a week since he signed off for the move.

The phone did take longer than I had hoped, but better than I expected. Actually we connected our own electrical and ran our own phone wires for the  phone company to hook up. Some of the conveniences you Yanks take for granted just do not exist here.

We also ran our own water line, (one block over), plus installed our own ready tank, 16000 liters, and pressure system. Right now we are installing a new sewerage system as the old one is backing up.

This in addition to rescuing the house itself, it had been empty for 12 years, has left Booty quite tired.

We also are continuing to grow in membership and our Church Building is growing Rock by Rock, Block by Block. We voted to buy a simple block making machine which will manually make one block at a time. Two advantages, first the quality of the blocks will be better, 38 blocks per sack of cement vs. 44-48 for the commercially bought blocks. Second will be a small savings in the cost.  But more than that will be the opportunity to manifest our love for the Lord by our labors. Even now when we meet on the land under tents, we sit behind our growing rock wall, look at our hand cleared land, watch the children ascending to their classes up the hill on the rock steps we made and you know what? We have the most beautiful church in the world!

I know lad, you have been in my thoughts and my prayers daily. Have you made your peace with the Lord or are you still hurting?

What you are doing is so awesome!  I'm sure your "church" is just as beautiful as the greatest cathedrals in the world.  To God, even more beautiful.  You remind me of the story of Saint Francis when he rebuilt the abandoned country church in Italy that had fallen into ruins.  Nothing but rubble was left, but stone by stone, Francis and his followers built it into a lovely place of worship for the people.  Seeing him working to build the church inspired many of the locals to participate and he won many souls to the Lord by his example of humility and service.  God bless you, Booty!

If you send him an email (if his email account isn't backed up and frozen due to the infrequency of the maintenance he's able to do on it), he'll drop you a quick note to let you know he's alive.

I want you to know Booty that I constantly asked where you were. I even posted "Where is Booty" threads several times.

Before we actually started, I thought people like St Francis or St Patrick were myths that we held to keep ourselves going. Now I know that they were real. When you step out in the Lord, He is there with you step by step. Each time it appears like you have met an insurmountable obstacle, it is only your own lapses in faith that block your way.
I pray daily to increase my faith so that I might encounter fewer insurmountable obstacles. I feel so ill prepared and so unqualified for the role I find myself in, yet for some reason the Lord has seen fit to continue to make the obstacles disappear from before us.

The miracle is how much we receive in relation to how much we truly deserve! Just takes steps in faith, little ones at first, (That would be where I am at), and bigger and bigger until some day you leap and bound!
