I heard this on the radio the other day.  It doesn't surprise me.  What does surprise me is that he still manages to get any airtime.

And you'd think, with all the snow in those tropical countries, that people from Africa and southern Asia would dominate the winter olympics.  :p

On the other board where i post, someone seriously suggested moving the Winter Olympics to the summer, so it wouldn't have to compete against American Idol, et al, in the ratings.

That'd help things, too.  :D

Gumbel is an arrogant fool, the best athletes are at the winter games, no one did a skin color check before determining which athletes could compete. If Gumbel really thinks a black athlete got shafted, maybe he could name names. He can't because it isn't true.

Instead because there are some white athletes who happen to be the best in the world, he takes a cheap shot at the only people left in the USA it is acceptable to take a cheap shot on: white conservatives.

Remember Gumbel thought he was so popular that he could get CBS' Morning show to take over the ratings from NBC's Today Show (the show he left), instead the ratings only got more dismal for CBS and Gumbel left with egg all over his face. Instead of admitting no one wants to see his sorry face, he makes lunatic rantings like the one above. His words speak to what kind of person he really is, and why no one in the USA (except the PC media) takes him seriously...

He's a jerk, yes.  However, he is only a silver medalist jerk at best because no one can out jerk Algore.

Bryant Gumbel has let his ego and his mouth marginalize him to the point that the only gig he can get is over at HBO - if that show is even still on the air.

His brother, Greg, is knowledgable, amiable, and classy...all of the things Bryant is not.
