I'm registered, but I have to log on every time.  Isn't there a way to avoid logging on every time?

Nevertheless

When you sign in there is a place to tell it how long to keep you signed in.

I agree.   What is this with having to log in every time we come to the board?   It's a nuisance.. ::lookaround::

You don't if you check the box to stay loged in. I never have to log in when the site opens I am already loged i. I forgot how I did it but I do know it is when you login you tell it then.

Here's what it looks like, at the bottom of the main forum page:

Click the length of time you want to stay logged in by clicking the drop menu:

JMG,

You're the man. Thanks.

Photoshop. Image posting. Duh.

the best way to do it, as one post above says, is to sign in with name and password, but before clicking the login button, put an X in the square marked "Always stay logged in".  I believe that's the correct wording.  Anyway, like the previous poster, I did it, and I never log in anymore.

I stay logged in all the time. I'm sure there's something you can click on that says "Keep me logged in", or something like that.

I thought and I still think that "forever" means forever.  Unless I am corrected in someway and someone I won`t log in again. ::tippinghat::

Can somebody advise me how one starts a new thread? I cannot find anything on my home screen that instructs how this is accomplished.
It is impossible to gain contact to any of the moderators. There is a help screen but the advice given concerns a button that I cannot find. There is no direct contact available with any of the adminstrators.

You can start a new thread by going to the New Topics button at the top where the Reply, etc buttons are.
Click on the person's name you wish to contact and you will be able to PM them a message from inside their profile.

To start a new thread you would have to be on the main menu page as the place you want to place it. Lets say you want to post a new thread in the Theology section. You world first click that section then at the top of the menu you will find buttons that say Mark as read notify new topic and such just click the new topic and follow through.

As far as contact to mods if you are on the home screen (which is the first one that opens when you come here which is the main menu ) you scroll all the way to the bottom and you will find a list of everyone that is on line at that time. The mods are in red. Just click on their name and send them a private message. There normally is at least one on most of the time.

To add to the others, you can't start a new topic if you're inside a thread reading posts, and you can't do it on the main index page.  You have to click on a forum on the left (like General, Theology, Politics, etc.), then the "new topic" button should appear for you on the page that lists all the threads with the specific forum (as Bill said).

Thanks.
I guess I'm just getting too old to see the obvious.

Zoonance, that really sounds like an issue with your computer or browser. If you're shutting your computer down and then when you come back you have to login it sounds like it's removing cookies or deleting history. You might want to try the advice at http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2009/07/09/fix-windows-live-messenger-not-remembering-id-and-password

Back to logging  in :

When I do the clean up  on the computer, I have to log in again !   Is there a way around that ?

Thank You :)

Nevertheless

By "clean up" do you mean delete cookies & clear cache? If so, then no.

grams

It say's cleaner on the computer.

It  is doing things while I sit and wait and have to keep clicking on things.   It gets the junk and stuff out ?

I think we have had 3 different people help us with our computer and I would not be surprised if they each added some thing they thought we need  ?

Thank You for your reply !    ::smile::
