One of the old posts ("There'll be no butter in hell!") made me think of my two favorite literature lines:

"Like butter, streak after luscious streak." from Aldous Huxley's Brave New World

"Butter, pitiful hearted butter which melts at the sight of the sun." William Shakespeare, I can't remember which play.

Buckaroo Bonzai[/quote]

And I thought I was the only person in the world who actually saw that wonderful movie.

Another great line from Buckaroo -- in the middle of an instructional discussion during brain surgery --

"Don't touch that.  You don't know what it might be connected to."

Bon Voyage

Here's a few quotes from a favorite of mine, Pee Wee's Big Adventure:

"Good Morning Pee Wee!"
"Good Morning Mr. Breakfast."

or

"I pity the poor foo who don't eat my cereal."

Hey, Barb, found the old thread.

"oh George.....not...the livestock"

Skip

"We're all in this together."
Brazil

"I can't believe it!  The whole world at war and I am not a part of it!  God will not permit this to happen.  I will be allowed to fulfill my destiny.  God's will be done!"  George C. Scott in "Patton."

One of my favorite lines is from "A Few Good Men", "You want the truth?  You can't handle the truth."  Jack Nicholson

I like the look and attitude behind the line. I am real deep here!!

go Nicky!   go Nicky!   go Nicky!

I like that.  If I were some sort of mental health professional, I'd be a behavioral psychologist before I'd be either a psychiatrist or a psychoanalist.

It's lovely to figure out what happened to us to 'make us that way'; but NOW, what are we gonna do about functioning healthily in spirit, in society, in the family, in the church?  Hmmm?

Arkstfan

From the terrible movie 1941 when the two shore watchers get caught in the Ferris Wheel while looking for Japanese invaders.

"Trapped.... like beavers"

Same movie when John Belushi wants to steal a person's motorcycle.

"Look! A baby wolf!" (We used that for years on our kids and they were each probably 5 or 6 before they quit looking  ;)

The most popular line in our house (at least for my wife and me) is when the kids or one of us starts ranting about everything that is going wrong. Someone will add.

"OUR PET'S HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!!"
from Dumb and Dumber after Petey is killed.

Nicholas

One of my favorite lines is from Cool Hand Luke

"What we have here is a failure to communicate"

Ah  the wisdom  :D

Beverly Nuckols (hocndoc)

The one I use the most is Scarlet's"
"I'll think about that tomorrow."

My favorite is from Jaws:
"We're gonna need a bigger boat!"

Which one is "God bless you!" from? (Please Don't Eat the Daisies"??)

I have a victory to report! Our Sunday school class is studying 1 Corinthians and today we got to Chapter 11. I've been worrying myself (and my husband) sick, trying to figure out how I'd even go, whether I'd get kicked out or just be rude to my classmates (Can't call them Brothers and Sisters in the mood I was in). But, I went, God helped me be polite, and I can - and want to - look my Brothers and Sisters in the eyes. (No one told my why it could matter to the angels, though.)

"God Bless you!" Seekr (and "us every one!").
