has anyone on this site ever caught themselves praying for their favorite team. either before, during, or after a game. i know it sounds shallow, but periodically i catch myself praying for things ( better stated as: asking god to help my team) during a game. it is almost reflexive. for instance, when my st. louis cardinals were trying to topple the dreaded mets in the national league championship, i actually recall asking god to allow scott rolen to be apart of something positive and for him to make the big hit to win the game. (rolen was struggling with injuries and poor performance and a benching). and when my razorbacks play, i almost lay prostrate asking for god's intervention. i know some of you will say "saved, are you sure your saved" and "you need to put more emphasis on things that matter to god like war, politics, and the unchurched." well i do predominately.  but sometimes, i really need god to help out my boys. and i was just wondering if i'm the only nut job here.

yes, you are, but that's another thread   rofl

As far as praying for your teams, I not only used to do that (when I followed sports), I would also pray for whoever was playing their rival thing night.  I figured it was wrong to pray for somebody to lose, so I would ask for the opponents win.

At one time I had asked God to bless the Dallas Cowboys. Instead look what happened. Satan's emissary, Jerry Jones is at the helm. But God got him back, he turned his jawbone into an ass!
