.............

John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto
you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the
Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Well... The Son humbled himself and the Father has put everything under the son's hand --

And the Spirit defers to both.

The Council at Constantinople (381, I believe) put to rest any debate of whether or not God the Father and God the Son are of the same substance and essence. They are equal in all things and parts of the same God-entity. Because Christ, in His time on earth, subordinated Himself to the Father does not mean He lost for all eternity His divinity.

Jon-Marc

He also said, "My Father and I are one."

I think this is one of those unanswerable questions.

God sent Jesus his only son into the world.  God is greater for being able to send Jesus.  Jesus is however on another level as Jesus became flesh whereas God hasn't unless you count Jesus as God.

Of course He is. He is the second Person of the Godhead, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

It is answerable alright but we might get ourselves into a twist doing so. I think I have just highlighted how easy it is to get into a twist on this one.  Jesus is God so Jesus and God and as JM puts it, the Holy Spirit. The three go together and you cannot seperate them in terms of levels, who is over another..... It be interesting to read on I think and see how people deal with it.

A couple of passages for consideration:

1 Corinthians 11:3.
But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.

1 Corinthians 15:27-28.
For "God has put all things in subjection under his feet." But when it says, "all things are put in subjection," it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him.  When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all.

Greetings.

Son dies, Father creates Him again. It's obvious Who is Greater.

Regards goodman.

The Son bows to the Father and the Spirit submits to the will of both --

But who cares if you can tally up the levels of greatness of one facet of God or another?

Either a thing is God or it is not.

Either a thing is Divine or it is not.

If it is the Holy God, even if you only know it as a portion or a facet or a personality or a face of the Holy God, well, that's your human lack of ability to get your mind around a concept of such a might scope as God.

And if it is the triple-omni God, even if you are only able to discern a portion of it, it is still God.

All that is Divine IS God.

If God can isolate and separate Himself into separate persons, into identifiably discrete portions -- separable and identifiable by our finite human minds -- He is still One, He is still God, and you can still pray to Him.

Somewhere out there beyond our ability to perceive, God has always been and will always be One.
