I rarely get interested in such things, but our hometown team is slugging it out up in Williamsport this week.

We are 1-1, and, as I understand it, you are eliminated at the second loss.

We face MA tonight, and since we whooped Oregon, who in turn, outlasted MA yesterday (on ABC, so I could watch it), one might be hopeful.  However, MA, whooped Ohio, who beat us like drum, so nothing is guaranteed, except a pretty intense game.

In any case, it will be broadcast on ESPN2, so if you happen to be watching around 6PM (ET) or so, I would appreciate you cheering for our team, from Warner Robins GA.

[I will not be able to because I am too cheap to get "full" cable... ::shrug::]

Mere Nick

"Whooped"?  Is that the same as "whupped"?

normfromga

Or maybe "whomped."

Like I say, I don't hang around sports enough to get all the terminology right...

Jaime

The team from Lubbock, Texas is going to win it all.

BTW, I watched the game yesterday and I was wondering what ever happened to real baseball caps. Those things those kids on both teams were wearing were ridiculous. The bill was as flat as pancake and about 3 inches wider that the rest of the cap. It looked like a hip hop nightmare or little league low riders.

You gotta win more than you lose.  Oregon "whooped" Ohio who beat Georgia "like a drum".  Anything is possible.  Oregon is doing really well.  Beaverton took it all last year.  Lake Oswego could go all the way themselves.  Not to be biased or anything.

Oregon is out.

It's either TX or GA against an international team.

PEGGY JOYCE

Yep,  that's my two favorite teams   (since Indiana was eliminated)

Go TX and GA !!!!!!   ::clappingoverhead::

My grandson plays Little League,  and I love it!!!

Maybe some day he will play in Williamsport

Thanks for all the support. ::thumbup::

And, with all sincerity, let the best team win Saturday. ::clappingoverhead::

[At least it will be on ABC, so I will be able to see it... ::nodding::]

Not to be biased or anything, but it was a GA team that "took it all" last year.::wink::

But Beaverton has much to be proud of.  I see that one of their teams made it to the LL Softball World Series this year also.::thumbsup::

Jaime

Congratulations to the Georgia Little League!

normfromga

Thank you! ::tippinghat::

We are glad of the win, but was sorry the TX catcher was injured Saturday (even though it occurred while putting our man out at home.)  However, he seemed in good spirits yesterday, though he will miss a few games playing football.

I thought the team did real well considering, as probably many other areas, football is the unofficial religion here, and a majority of people probably didn't know that we had a team heading to Williamsport, even among their contemporaries.

I think they all do now! ::wink::

Yeah..........But the thing that still sticks in my mind is, where in the world did those flat billed hip hop copy cat caps come from on all the teams? Were real baseball caps not available?

All the kids looked ridiculous in those Elmer Fudd hats.

At some point, some goofy hat designer looked in the mirror and smiled and thought to himself, "Now that's the look I'm talking about"
