Well,

Whoopi Goldberg is going to be taking Rosie O'Donnell's place on 'The View'.  I saw her on Bill O'Reilly and while she seems to lean liberal, I found her to be civil and make good points rather than repeat all the same rhetoric and talking points.

leans, did you say leans liberal.

well, i guess that makes barbara walters a card carrying conservative.

Don't you be hating on Guinan.

I've never watched the View, except for the time I was stuck in a drs office for 2 hours.

However, liberal or not, Whoopi Goldberg is ten thousand times more interesting than Rosie O'Donnell.

Nevertheless

The same could be said of wallpaper paste.

I don't watch 'The View' -- I'm at work.  I was hoping, however, that they would pick Roseanne Barr.  She's my favorite obnoxious person.

I was one of the three people who watched Whoopi's talk show regularly when it was on fifteen or so years ago.  I thought she was a pretty good interviewer (she didn't make everything about her).  I still remember an interview with Stephen King she did that actually made me reluctant to turn out the lights.

janine

She is apparently a brilliant woman.

I will want to listen to a brilliant thinking person, with only as much ego and s/he can genuinely back up, regardless of political leanings.

We will see.  I don't watch The View either, being at work all day.

Even when I've been at home I haven't watched it much.  Too many liberals on it.

But we will see.

marc

I have no idea.  Males aren't allowed to watch it, if I understand correctly.

You can watch but you'll just grow breast if you do!

Oh yes they can.  Most men have two hands.

Bon Voyage

I like handling breasts, this is one case where I can do two things at a time.

archaeologist

i watched 'the view' for a bit, didn't grow a breast but i found it to be very boring and adolescent at best.

GraceOfGod

I do watch the view a few times a week. i enjoy Whoopi much more than i ever enjoyed Rosie. Whoopi is just as liberal, but much more intelligent, articulate and knows how to show prudence. I enjoy some of what she has to say, even though i don't always agree with her. ::smile::

St Cecilia

I don't have TV, I've never watched this show, but I read about Rosie's offensive antics. Rosie is an offensive , uncouth big mouth with no class. Whoopie Goldberg is a lovable, charming woman who is compassionate and respectful. I like her.  ::smile::

Except for a minute or two while flipping channels, I don't watch The View.  Don't enjoy listening to idle women who sit around and make often obnoxious comments, seeing who can speak the loudest.  Does what they do actually change the world for the better?  I don't think so.  It's just gossip and not even really thought-provoking.  Whoopi is a very intelligent woman, but still a liberal.  She still wouldn't entice me to watch.  That's just me.   ::shrug::

janine

I don't watch TV either.  Have accidentally stumbled across The View at other people's homes, sometimes.  Not a show worth watching.
