don has a plan

After the excitement of the ALCS, the World Series seems a bit anticlimactic, imo.  I'm going with the Red Sox in five.  I think they may lose a game at Coors Field.

Weeble

With the run they are on I am picking the Rockies to sweep.  They have not forgotten how to play in the last 8 days.

marc

Nah, but they aren't playing the Diamondbacks anymore either.  I'll be rooting for them, but I don't expect it to happen.

Dennis

Well I guess the Rockies' sweep is off the table.

Sox in 6.  Just in time to win at Fenway.

Jimbob

I say Sox in 6 or 7.  I lean 7 because of a couple of those games against Cleveland.  We'll see.

Don't guess I'll be getting tickets, though (it's a short drive).  I hear tickets at Fenway are going for $950 a pair in the cheap seats (who says only the Yankees are greedy?!).

Gotta back the Rockies since they are from the league that still holds to the true faith of having all the players bat and all the batters play in the field.  They may go down, but they have kept the faith.  What good will it do for the Sox to win the series, but have lost their baseball souls with the innovation of the designated hitter?

You know that many sports writers and officials are considering adding the DH for the NL right?

marc

I don't think it's the sportswriters' call, and while I don't doubt that this is something Selig would like, I haven't heard anything new for a while, and doubt there will be any movement in the near future.  A few years back Selig floated the idea of combining the two leagues and making divisions geographical, and took a few steps in this direction (doing away with league presidents, combining umpires), overall the reaction was loud and angry.  Every poll I've seen on the DH has favored eliminating it, and I think Bud will be eliminated sooner than the DH will be either done away with or universally adopted.

Big Mike Lewis

I thought it would just be bragging to mention that the Red Sox have won the World Series, but no one else has mentioned it.

I have been jigging for the past week with Papelbon.

Bon Voyage

I think the Red Sox will take it in four games.  Prove me wrong!

We're in the same boat, Just As I Am.  I'm a Yankees fan in Braves country!

Their vileness knows no bounds.

Bon Voyage

The real World Series was the ALCS.
