I don't understand why you send me post and then block me from opening them.  Why send them???

2) What are you talking about?  Clearly, you've just posted, so are able to post. 

It might be that you are set up to get an email when anyone posts on a thread you have an interest in?

And it might be that you happened to try to look up one that has since been deleted?

Ahhh, that could be.

I often get an email notice about a thread I should go look at because there's a problem on it, since I am a moderator.  But, because of my odd schedule, it usually happens that another moderator gets there before me to fix it.

That usually results in me getting a screen that says something about me not being allowed to fool with that thread, when I try to follow the notice link.

I imagine it could work the same way if somebody sent you a notice, Robert, thinking you'd find a thread interesting, and it was gone by the time you looked.  Or if you have your account options set up to send you a notice about particular threads.
