I know that a lot of the members on these forums are from all across the globe, but as many of you know that homosexual marriages have been accepted in Massachusetts, where I just happened to live. My thought is that this state is cursed and so are the marriages in it because they have made it a law to marry homosexual couples. I often think to myself that I would never get married in this state because of what they have allowed to be called marriage, which is a sacred and holy union between a man and a woman. So what do you think, please don't hold back!

Cursed? I am not so sure...But this is happening all across the country and it is a sign if things to come....The "Civil Union" issue is the same thing as marriage.....Marriage IS holy...Marriage is between man and a woman...The problem with the homosexuals of today is that they do not see their life style as wrong...Because of the times we live in, we are forced to accept their life as "Normal"...They are very "In your face" about their chosen lifestyle. But this issue does not stop at this one topic...Let's look at a few...

You have the "Feel Good" churches...These "feel good" churches are leading these people to hell....Period....They are telling them that it is ok to be gay...God understands...God accepts you as is...They are quick to point out that nobody is perfect...There are gay and lesbian pastors....There are woman preachers, etc....Everything they stand for is against the word of God...But these churches are heralded as wonderful and if you try to confront the issue, you are blasted....

You have people calling themselves Christians that aren't...They defend their immoral lifestyle but what separates them and a true Christian is that a true Christian realize's that they are a sinner and they repent of their sins and try not to committ them again...That is what the bible asks us to do...But to a lot of the "religious" people they do not find what they do as sinful. A lot of the homosexuals of today do not think homosexuality is a sin....There in lies the problem...None of us can go before the Father with unconfessed sins on us...They do not see what they do as sinful....Until they see that, they are hopelessly lost....I work with a lesbian and she is quick to tell you she and her WIFE go to church all the time and that they are Christians....Well, all that does is hurt the Lord's cause....This kind of stuff spreads like a disease....Just look at how things have changed in the last 10 years alone...

All of these things you see today are a sign of how Godless our nation has become....The courts are making law instead of enforcing law....We have three distinct branches of government...Executive, judicial and legislative....Our whole system of checks and balances have broke down....As I said, the courts are now making law...They use their "opinion" of how the law "SHOULD" be interpreted or how they believe it should have been written...Not how it was written..I have read several opinions released by the courts and they usually are based on what THEIR assumption of the law is..Not the rule of law....That it is why it is so important (and why liberals fight it) who is placed on the supreme court...What is the only question (litmus test) normally given to a would be nominee for the supreme court? Yep... That's right..Abortion...Every time...A man is deemed fit to be on the bench, by a liberal, if he considers Roe vs. Wade, "Good Law"...

Look at what this country became in such a short period of time.....Do you think this happened by chance? Of course not...God's hand was behind this nation rising so fast...NEVER in recorded history has another country done what this country did...God HAD a plan for this country and I believe we were following that plan for about 200 years or so....Then the infighting started...

But over the years, the secular/progressive movement has taken it's toll on this country...We live in a time where I truly believe that God has just about removed his hand of protection from this country...Think about it...The criminal has more rights than the victim...The homosexual is protected by 'Hate" laws....The liberals in congress are actually trying to get legislation passed that would make it "hate speech" (thereby making it punishable through the hate crimes bill) if a pastor says homosexuality is wrong....Abortion has somehow been classified as a "basic human right" afforded to every woman by the constitution of the United States of America....Doctors who perform these murders are protected through our laws....You can have anything religious in a public school, except anything about Jesus....

The argument of separation of church and state has become ridiculous....The framers of the constitution's only fear was trying to prevent the government forcing a religion on them...If you know history, they all left that behind in England...i.e. The Church of England..There was no other recognized church...THAT'S what they were trying to prevent...Not little Sally Sue from reading her bible or a class room praying if they wish....Anything about God is out in our society....Unless it meets a need at the moment... I just cringe when I here Nancy Pelosi say she prays for our president every day...Insinuating he is lost and needs to find the "Real" God....She makes me sick....

The biggest problem this world has, in my opinion, is people claiming to be believers and they are not...They destroy so much that true Christians work so hard to do....Take this for example...I work with a guy who is a FLAMING LIBERAL.....He supports abortion, gay rights, hates the military or anything to do with it, despises anything that could be construed as being judgemental (except when it come to Christianity)..But he says he is a Christian...We had a conversation one day about the state of our society in general...We talked about stealing and he actually pointed out that I was being judgemental because I said I would call a thief a thief....He told me that was "mean spirited" and that I would not know WHY this guy was stealing...He went on to say he has been a DEVOUT Roman Catholic his whole life, etc....Now, how can this guy be a devout RC and believe in all the things he does? How can he sit around and get knee knocking drunk and say this is acceptable by the Lord...Simple....He may consider himself Catholic but he is not saved....I do not believe that a saved person will condone the behaviors he condones....Look at all the top liberal democrats in our country...What do they all hold most precious? It is like a broken record when they talk....Abortion, homosexual rights, welfare, etc....

And for the record about welfare, don't get me wrong, I am in favor of welfare when it comes to helping people who cannot help themselves...That is a basic tenet of the Christian faith and life, helping others who are less fortunate.....But it has turned into a complete joke...We have 3rd generations of families on welfare...They have never worked a day in their life..Their parents and their Grand parents have been on welfare...Totally capable of working...Babies having babies....And none of them work...And when they do go to work, the federal government ( that is our taxes) pays for the day care and their food stamps...It is ridiculous....The bible says that a lazy man should not eat.... But we have turned an entire populous into an entitlement culture..People actually believe it should be given to them instead of having to work for it...They are entitled to it...

When you see how anti-God this country has become, it is easy to ask the question; Why would God want to help people who hate him? The answer is simple...He doesn't...It is one thing to go astray for a while...But what has happened in this country is pathetic... I love my country but it has become the modern day Sodom....

Believe me I understand exactly where you are coming from and agree with most of what you have said. The last part of your sentence in bold print is why I honestly think that this state is cursed and I know that they are trying to allow same sex marriages all over the country, but as far as I know they all haven't accepted it yet, but for the states that do accept and condone it, wouldn't they be cursed like Sodom and Gomorrah. Let's just say that I wouldn't  be surprised if God burns part of this nation up like He did w/Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of saving people who oppose this lawless act. So that others can learn the fear and reverence of God and be saved.

I just think that this nation and others as well need to be taught a lesson that they will never forget. No, I'm not God, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if God did do this as a reminder to others that He alone is God and that marriage is supposed to be holy and sacred.

I suspect, if that state is "cursed" at all, it was cursed a long time ago for many another rotten thing that goes on there.  If God cares about the legal/business arrangements of people who may or may not be His to begin with, that's another matter.

I don't see God saving people in groups.  Not any more, if He ever did, even with Israel.  I see God saving and redeeming and washing and setting apart and loving and dying for individuals.

Therefore neither do I see him condemning us in groups.

I am not a saved person because I, being female, tend to desire male company and married a man.  I am a saved person because a Man died for me.  Therefore, I try to learn about how He would have me to live.  It's only fair, since He has redeemed -- re-purchased, bought and paid for -- me.   

If I, a lost person, decided to act on some tendency or other that led me to place a woman in the "spouse" position, I would not be any more lost because of it.  And if I, a saved person, acted that way, it would be a process, a running-away or a running-toward God on my part.  He would call to me and I, prodigal daughter, would maybe answer or maybe not or maybe do it later.

If any state's marriages are 'cursed', I suppose it would be those states in the South.  It's funny how 'religious' people are down here, yet--next to Nevada--Southern states have the highest divorce rates in the nation.

I am not sure what your intention is here, but there are "religious" people all across this country...It has nothing to do with the "South". Sin and Selfishness cause divorce...Period...

Yes divorce at times can be wrong unless of course there is infidelity involved, but same sex marriage is always wrong and maybe just maybe God is getting fed up with this and may just maybe He has cursed certain marriages, which one I am not sure of, but maybe this is why the divorce rates are so high, especially in Christianity.
