Usually, whenever a screen name appears in black, and the word 'guest' is under the name, it means the person has been banished from the GC kingdom.

I figured as much...what a shame.

I even posted something on that thread in his defense, putting what was said into proper context, I guess my appeal was not good enough for them.  Luckily I have his email so we can continue our dialog and the fact, I will be creating a new forum and this one will have catholics "and" protestants in the staff so there will be no dissention between the two sides and people will be treated fairly regardless of denomination.  Luckily I'm a veteran webmaster, scriptmaster, search engine marketer and above all, friend to all Christians and of course, I have a vast amount of experience running, and establishing boards.

John 1:1,
I would appreciate it if you would send me CC's email address.  I would like to keep in touch with him.  I have become so disgusted with the events of the past two days.  My desire to respond and post have greatly diminished.  I think a long break is in order.  I will check in from time to time.  At this rate, there may not be any Catholics left to correct anybody.
God bless and have a happy Easter.

John 1:1

Broach, I just sent you his email address as well as mine brother.  I'm rather frustrated here lately as well, I'm trying to promote peace and unity, what I receive is hostility and division.  This does not glorify God at all, especially considering how close we are to Easter as well.

If I don't hear from you until then, Happy Easter to you as well, I'll keep you in my prayers.

Bon Voyage

I am tired of the hostility as well.  I believe that people can disagree and post why they disagree with a practice or doctrine that someone else believes in without things getting personal.  But they have gotten personal, and it hasn't been one-sided.

And I didn't think CC's behavior was any worse than some of "The Protestants."  However, CC crossed the line, and he was banned.

If someone has a problem with Lee Wilson's decision, feel free to PM him. Otherwise, the decisions of the administrator, and the moderators are not up for public discussion, as per GCM rules.

GCM rules need some revision, obviously they aren't working...........

Is it safe to assume that John 1:1 met the same fate as CC?

I really hope not.  I don't recall Brian ever trying to be vicious with personal attacks.  And, to the best of my knowledge, he was trying to be a peacemaker between the Catholics and Protestants here.

He may have just thrown up his hands and left though.  That wouldn't be totally out of character.  Anybody know?

Unfortunately, John 1:1 had to be banned. Last Friday he made it very clear on the public forum, and in private discussions with a few individuals, including some of the moderators, that he was anything but a peacemaker.

I'm sorry to hear that, and more than a little confused by it.

We were all very confused by the whole episode.  In the end, it seems that John 1:1 was a troubled individual.

I recieved a PM from John 1:1 before all this happened. I wanted to say in his defense that I thought he was a very warm hearted man who was trying to bridge the gaps....not cause them.

You should see the IM I received from this guy, I can confidently tell you he need to be banned.

Well, this makes me feel so much better.  I am already starting to feel warm and fuzzy inside.       ::help::

My period of reflection is almost over.  I hope to get back to posting soon.  I see that there are some threads in the Organized Religion section that need some serious attention.  It is somewhat amusing to see a bunch of Protestants debate Catholic doctrine and issues.  Kind of like watching a bunch of PE teachers debate Physics or Chemistry.

But I will say this concerning the "Anathema" discussion.  Most of you are both right and wrong...but Harold is certainly on the right track though.  This forum is in desperate need of a resident Catholic to set things right...I may stay on to play the role.

They have had serious attention, and have exposed the Roman Catholic church, and it's teachings, much to the dismay of you and other Roman Catholics (and would-be Roman Catholic defenders).

Then the same principle would and should apply to you and any other Roman Catholic who attempts to debate Protestant doctrine and issues.

Perhaps the forum is also in desperate need of a resident Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, etc.?

James, always a pleasure and thank you for your kind and productive comments.

Well, considering I was once a Protestant for much of my life.  I think that I am in position to speak quite frankly about both.  I certainly know what both sides truly believe and teach.

I also doubt that the Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons would agree with the Nicene Creed, which the Catholic Church formulated in 325 at the Council of Nicea.

As far as the threads in question...I agree that something has been exposed...just how little some of you know about what the Catholic Church actually teaches.  But as I stated, there is some truth in what many have said.

So, one has to have been a Protestant, as you were, in order to speak about what Protestants believe and teach? I'm sure that the Pope, Cardinals, your Priest, and many others in the Roman Catholic church would say otherwise.

Quote from: broach972 on Fri Mar 28, 2008 - 14:42:05

You doubt that they would have problems with the Nicene Creed? Sounds like you don't know very much about them. Even so, the Holy Scriptures, the very word of God itself, is the best measurement for "orthodoxy".

I know more than you would like to admit. After all, I, too, am not a "cradle Catholic"...

Wycliffes_Shillelagh

The purpose of this thread from the get-go was to have a thread for catholics to discuss theology with other catholics.

Why is it full of arguments between catholics and protestants?  Why is it full of protestants at all?

Lastly, if you want the thread to die...then stop bumping it to the top of forum!

EDIT:  If anyone has any questions or concerns about this, feel free to PM me.  For one thing, the individual who started this thread is no longer on the forum.  So, let's move forward.
