I have a site I go to online that has hundreds of free movies and tv shows.  They usually get movies posted the second day they get to the theatres.  I've watched free movies online for several years. (ovguide.com)

The other day someone asked me if I thought watching bootlegged movies were a type of stealing.  I said I hadn't looked at it that way....but I could be wrong.  I don't download and burn them....I just watch them for free.

What does everyone else think about movies that are free online?  Do you think it is robbing or stealing to watch them?

I would say it is stealing, you are watching bootlegged movies when by law you should be paying to watch them.

Oh...I was soooo hoping no one would say that.   ::angel::

It's no more wrong than sneaking into a theater without paying.  ::lookaround::

Or stuffing dvd's in your jacket at Wal-Mart.

I'd say.... if the word "Bootlegging" is attached... something is not right.

what about hulu?  They advertise it as free movie site, they show commercials during the movie and offer a fee based improvements.

Nothing wrong with hulu.  But hulu wouldn't be showing a movie online for free (even with commercials) when it is still in the theater.
