Sometimes, in life, I think we get overwhelmed with circumstances that seem to be out of our control, and even out of God's control. Sometimes, it seems like God has taken His hands off and things are spinning out of control. But is that true?

Does God really have control of things?

I think He does.

While God has total control over the final outcome, He will not force His control over those who reject His reigning over them. Personally, I've found that it's always best to let God lead.

There are two problems with that.  The flesh profits nothing, and cannot choose the Spirit.  So no one can choose the things of God unless God first makes his/her eyes open.  Secondly, Jesus said, "No one can come to me unless the father who sent me drags him (John 6:44)."  No, God doesn't make everyone come to Him, so in a sense some people are allowed to freely reject Him.  But not all.

The question of the OP is general, but the link has to do with the problem of a good and loving God who permits evil and suffering.

I answered the question in general, but having read the link the question is transformed.

So, what's the point of the question?

I voted #1, but that goes with a Big BUT:

Each of us has FREEWILL, and that means WE determine when God has control in our life and when he does not.  Being Saved, being a Christian, does not mean God takes control of you, YOU have to Surrender your will to God.

But let me ask you, do you have any of the following thoughts and feelings:
Anger, Sadness, Grief, Guilt, Worry, Frustration, Anixous, Nervousness, impatience
If you do, Satan is alive and well in your life, and he is working on you.  Now that does not mean, he has control, but it does mean he is present and working on you.

When you feel such a feeling you need to turn to the Lord and tell Satan in the name of Jesus to leave you.  When you are totally under God's control you feel happy, joyful, calm, love, compassion, hopeful, or in other words you feel GOOD.

Heck, people think that they are Free of Satan once they are a Christian, and it is just the opposite.  Satan has the sinner, you -- as a Christian -- are a much bigger prize, so he works on you every chance YOU give him.  So you must always be on guard for those BAD FEELINGS and push them out and Satan away.  Satan knows your weaknesses, and how to get to you.  He makes women worry, worry about their kids, about bills, about everything.  But when a woman is with God, she doesn't need to worry about anything and when she starts to feel the feeling of worry, she just needs to push it away and in the name of Jesus push Satan away.  Men, are more sexual, or frustration, or anger.  Again, a man in God just needs to recognize the feeling and push it away and in the name of Jesus push Satan away.

You can keep the LORD ALWAYS in Control by just monitoring your feelings and looking for his guidance before you do anything.

Woah, woah, woah.  Then that means God is not sovereign and, therefore, not God.  You need to modify that statement to something like, "God allows us to surrender ourselves to Him because He wishes us to have freedom to love and obey."

How can God be God and not be in control of His creation?  Perhaps you don't mean control in the strictest sense; maybe you mean God doesn't force things to be a certain way all the time.  But He still must allow things to happen--that is, nothing happens apart from His dominion.  So yeah, He's not in control in that He doesn't force us to obey; but He is in control in that He allows us to disobey.
